Solution to freezing probs
I have a mobo with a 875 chipset and pulsar II card. The problem was that nuendo would randomly freeze, sometimes after a couple of minutes, somtimes after about half an hour. I tried absolutly everything to fix this, and i mean absolutly everything. My only hope was that my DAW was working 6 months ago, and should work again somehow.
The solution was to install scope fusion platform 3.1 a!
Freezing occurs with both 3.1c and 4.0. All other settings like hypertreading ACPI et.c. makes no difference. My DAW was working 6 mnd ago, and the reason was the drivers for the sound card. I am now a happy pulsar user!

Hello,
I have seen your message. You say that you have been able to use your i875 board by updating the driver. What drivers and how did you do it. Because I have the same problem. I have the Asus Board I875 P4C800 Deluxe and My computer is freezing just like you said. It will freeze rightaway or after sometime. I have tried everything, shutting down USBs, HT,IRQ changes, I mean you name it. I have tried alot of solutions I found in this forum and yet nothing seems to work. It worries me because I have spend about $5000 Canadians for this scope card. And I have not made any music on it yet. I have 1GB of Memory, ATI 9800 AGP card dual monitors, ATI TV tuner, Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz processor. At first I was so worried about the card but when I read this website and forum it gives me some hope. I really want to spend some serious money and get a state of the Art and creamware seems to be better besides protools. I said to myself if this does not work I would have to get a protools system. But it is quite expensive. I would rather have my creamware work. But if not I don't have a choice but to spend more.

I didn`t update the driver, but used an older one. SFP 3.1a is an older driver than 3.1.c and 4.0. The reason I tried this is because my DAW was working flawlessly unntil I decided to reinnstall XP a couple of months ago. When I reinnstalled XP (and used the newer SFP drivers) the above problems occured. After trying everything else, I innstalled the older SFP driver, and eureka, all problems went away.
I don`t know where U can download the older drivers, only 3.1c and 4.0 on creamware website.

I don't believe it! It actually works! After tweaking everything I got, these old drivers saved me from jumping out the window!
I've been playing now for 5 hours with no freezes. It still can happen ofcourse but usually i got them at 5 min so I think i got rid of them. Thanx svein and symbiote for the solution and the files.
What I did:
1) Uninstall the 4.0 drivers
2) Install the old drivers.
3) He will ask you to insert a WDM family cd or something. I inserted my 4.0 install cd before installing and he didn't asked it anymore so i guess he'll take the files from there.
4) That's it. Reboot ( otherwise no midi)

Did you try switching your computer to Standard mode? That did the trick for me. I have the same MOBO you have. (Pis là, çà roule en titi ici-d'dans!)On 2004-12-01 06:14, Individu wrote:

Dude, I have basically the same system as you... The answer i got from CW, that fixed the problem was to change ACPI to "standard PC", and turn off Hyperthreading. There were a few other tweaks that I cannot remember... one thing I will say is tha ti've turned ON Hyperthreading afterwards, and it has not crashed.. so I'm pretty sure its all about the ACPI drivers.
I have a P4C800-Deluxe with a 2.8c chip and ATI 9800 pro. My stuff kept locking up after a few minutes of midi sequencing.. sometimes it was after 30 seocnds, sometimes after 10 mins.. It was very demotivating.
Check our ACPI.

hello guys!
first the frame of my setup:
p4p800-e deluxe
PIV 3.00
2kingston ddr 512
sfp 3.1c, PULSAR 2
ACPI MODE
i feel less alone seeing somebody else had problems like mine: actually its ONE MONTH AND HALF i cant work on music because my computer is freezing.
altought i dont like it,(usually they aren't helpful) i also went to a technician. format, clean install etc, but still freezing...
result: i was using a p4p800 and i bought a new card because after trying a LOT of settings (i have aniway everything usb-audio onboard etc disabled in bios) still freezing!!!!
the new card is the p4p800e-deluxe.
and it freezes.
in my case doesnt seems related to midi, because it stops responding with just audio tracks in the sequencer, randomly.
hyperthreading was enabled before, as acpi, and the computer was going...
now i read that could be the driver 3.1 a the solution...
1)there is somebody with the p800 series encountering these problems?(seems that yes, reading the threads) and wich is the solution?
i also noticed that some times when i reboot after a freeze there is amessage in the post that says tha"overcloking failed"
i never overcloked anything.
i neither installed AI BOOSTER because made crash the machine.
i cant disable hiperthread in bios in my machine, i jus t can set
AI OVE4RCLOCK TUNER on standard or manual
and
PERFORMANCE MODE on standard-auto-turbo
----
its a shame to spend so much mony on these machines and never have a stable configuration...
....i'm really frustrated.
every help is very, very, very welcome.
good vibes to everibody, here in PZ.
now i go to eat some pasta and try to forget for some hours :/
