How to install SDK

Hi,
I feel like a complete newbie, but I want to set things right before I actually start mastering the art of SDK. The basic question I have is: How do I install SDK?

On my CD I have 1 executable, one zip with documentation and one zip with a lot of modules.
I ran the .exe file, it installed, and I could start the SDK through my SDK desktop icon and enter my key-numer. The install-routine mentioned something about updating the PCI drivers. Why? What drivers?

Then come the zip-files. Where should I unpack them?

Furthermore I seem to be missing some PDF documentation files... From the main PDF I cannot access all the other PDF's (e.g. the installation manual cannot be found).
Am I missing files here of is it because I unpacked the archive in the wrong directory.
Hope this rings any bells out there.
