How to get the Optimaster into a Logic Bounce
Thanks I can actually record the output as you suggest. Logic has an In/Out plugin that exactly addresses routing a hardware unit into the 'bounce' signal path. I did get a reply from LUG and a guy said he did it.. however when I replied to his email, it kept failing. I know it can be done, just waiting for someone to come forward . Thanks Greg

You need to assign the right outputs and inputs in your I/O enabler in Logic.
ASIO source will probably be something other than 1-2.
Plug the first 2 outputs from that into Opiomaster.
Route the output of Optimaster to ASIO dest. slot that are free.
Assign the slot numbers Optimaster is plugged into to your I/O enabler's inputs field.
Voilà!

Are we listening?..
no, it's not a Mac specific thing.
'Regular' bounce is a process where the CPU calculates all processings (eq, compression, fx etc) along the timeline of the finished track (given all data is already recorded).
Since monitoring isn't necessary in this case, the calculations are usually faster than it needs to playback the track for listening.
It's a convenient feature, but as we all know the majority of such calculations is done with a lower quality than the DSPs in SFP provide - which relativates this advantage somehow.
Users of 'native only' systems will frequently deny this fact, but since they have no way to experience the difference they cannot really be blamed for it

they all do ofline bounce. heck, just route the stereo bus out back in to an empty stereo track and make it easy.......(realtime bounce is in one of the menus, i'm just too lazy to search

personally i do serious mixes to dat and then transfer back to samplitude for mastering the entire cd. for quick mixes i just connect to samplitude via 24bit wave drivers and stream in realtime.(press record in sam and play in logic or cubase. of course, with cubase i set sam priority to "above normal" in the task manager and scope priority to "low") i'm sure that wavelab will work just the same. this saves me the "export"/"import" step and feels more natural...

I hope this topic doesn't go off thread. Please I am wanting a proper solution to using Logic's I/O plugin to incorportate Creamware plugins into my final bounce. So far none of the replies have worked. I have treied the routing as suggested earlier & it ends up picking up the creamware plug but any logic plugin in the master 1-2 out 'after' the I/O plug is not registering, in fact the logic levels stop working when the I/O plug is set to on. Remember, I can record the Pulasar plug, but I miss out on the Logic plugs in the output 1-2 master, or I miss the creamware plug & get the logic one . I want both. Thanks Greg ( and NO XTC option please - just the I/O plug routing)
Simple 4 me: I can load waves & logic plugs ect into my logic master out to bounce. I simply want access to the pulasr ones : I want to use a 1 step process so I can see the final levels ect in my Logic Master out.
The Logic I/O plug allows u to include an external hardware device into your final bounce. I just want the same as Optimaseter for eg is supposedly a 'virtual harware substitute'. Thansk greg

Indeed, my Logic knowledge is Mac specific... However if you say you alway listen to the sound while bouncing I assume you have the'realtime' bounce mode set on. I don't know if the i/o plugin works on master busses, though. From what you say we assume you have everything routed properly in your SFP project so you can ask anybody on a serious Logic forum about your problem but you have to clarify you want to use an external device 'cos it's difficult to explain the SFP specific things to people they haven't seen the card or the soft.

Now I did and it DOES work.
In your Master output strip in Logic, Choose Stereo-Logic-Helper-I/O.
Set the Output to whatever fre output you may have in your ASIO source module. Open more outputs if necessary.
In SFP route this output to Optimaster.
Route the output of Optimaster to whatever ASIO destination that is free. Again, Open more inputs if need be.
Now Set the input of Logic's I/O to the destinations where Optimaster is. It works here.
To be fair, I did give you the plugging the other way around originally. Sorry about that
