You must be the funkiest guy in Oz!

Love the sounds, great playing.

It doesn't need anything else, but I'd like to hear what you want to do.

Very funky, I believe that you are a good pair. Brass stuff would be nice indeed.

thanks for the comments - this forum is the only feedback i get for music these days (Perth is an outpost  ).

Well, Australia is an outpost, altogether, musically speaking.

Simon and i have decided we'll just record an album, on my gear (borrow some mics) and stuff the fact that we find it hard to get gigs because we don't play well known covers.

Make the music, never mind about our community's current mindset

anyway, thanks z folks, ya keep me rockin

yes. when you have a finished product you can start to sell it and then you can perform it for someone in the world who cares. there WILL be someone, too!

Hm don´t you think you could add some organ/synth/pad something to harmonically fill the "funk-gaps"? I have the feeling that the overall harmonic picture of the song suffers a little by to much "click" "funk" "pop". At least in some parts I would suggest to "fill it up" with a basic sound (softly playing long chords)

I´m sorry my english is insufficient so I have to describe it that way.
Never the less I like the song.

thanks ken, gary & marcus

yes, rogurt, that could be a way to go, although come to think of it i generally avoid block chords in this sort of thing.

maybe some trombones will fill that gap, when i get around to it

thanks again, folks.

Very pleasing!...Pretty good musicians and pretty good singer... It sounds good, even if the mixing must be refined a little more

i think i need a mic

this vocal was done on a 58, so that makes it a bit fuzzy. I'll repost it when it's all together, but i've got to do a theatre show's soundtrack first.

rock on regardless

edit - cd-100 on vocal, too. that thing is good

What's the cd100?

Is it the Relab/Sonic Timeworks Chorus-Delay that I wait for (I own the fantasbulous P100 )?

(how come that I don't have this cd100 yet?)

solid work there wayne! not that i expected anything less.

OH btw, what are you running your bass through? i'm on the verge of getting a decent bass preamp and i was hoping maybe you could give me some not-so-very-expensive-bass-preamps suggestions..?

hey siberiansun, how've you been ?

i'm running the jazz through an ART Tube MP Studio V3, got it for $99 US.

it's got a valve, a vu, phantom, and a bunch of algorithms for different applications, so it's versatile and a good low price alternative.

here's their site, navigate-audio products-tube mic preamps.

it's a tough steel cased unit, too

Had a bit of a run at it today, stuck a couple of trombones and a tuba on it, then Simon turned up out of the blue and put another verse down.

I think we're getting somewhere

thanks for helping produce this track, Z folks

This is good stuff Wayne! Really nicely balanced, warm, clean mix.

Canberra is a musical outpost as well! So just doin the same thing as you at the moment. Given the local music scene the flick and just sticking to a couple of private projects with friends for now. Really enjoying it too.
