sfp 4.0 or 3.1 reformatting pc

some questions

my pc is about to be re-formatted coz its playing up, well what I want to know is can I download sfp 4.0 or will I have to register it, I only have a pulsar 1 card, so I don't know whether it will run ok with it, or whether i'm gonna get registration nightmares.

also I have been running sfp 3.1 but to be honest I think i prefered pulsar 3.0 software, i'm thinking of resorting back, whats your views?

and an off topic question (non compulsory answers), i have backed up my vst instruments folder, can I just drop it straight back into the steignberg directory after my reformat, and everything will be the same?

you can register 4.0 and run it with your p1. i'd use it but your choice.

as to the folder, yes you can just drop it in place and all should be well. you can do the same with your scope projects and devices not in the 4.0 download.

What version of 3.1? 3.1a, b or c were you running? Vers 3.1c was stable and Vers 4.0 is really just an update to 3.1c app software (still uses same drivers as 3.1c) with a few minor enhancements. It's very stable.

sfp 3.1c I was running, but when i installed it all my dyna mixer big mixer etc had dissapeared, i managed to find the big mixer on an old disc, but still aint got the dynamixer and a few other things.

I've just been to the creamware hq to get sfp 4.0 and I keep getting errors, ive got opera and ie browsers but creamware aint having none of it, is there any other url's I can download from

whenever upgrading, save you device and program files sp that you can save device that you need that aren't in the install....
if you need the dyna mixer, pm or email me.

now I am on the creamware webpage, and have activated scope 4.0 but cant download it, have tried the ftp but it wont let me into the directory!

where can I get sfp 4.0 from, the creamware webpage is confusing and half the time I get error 404

any help or links to sfp 4.0 pleeeeeze?

well got the sfp 4.0 downloaded in the end
so forget the above post

the only thing that confused me on install was the part where it asks you to select the folder to install the vst xtc plugins in, so I naturally thought it would be in the steinberg folder, but it said everytime i browsed for the steignberg folder, that steignberg products wouldnt work unless i left it at what the default destination

oh well, will soon find out i spose
