As a little bloke, i used to hide behind a chair to watch Dr Who - them cyborgs strolling through London were scary!

When i was at high school in Adelaide (late 70's, early 80's), we had an "electronic music studio", where we spliced up audio tape and played with a modular synth that was called Sebastian.

Later on at uni there was a big, well-equipped electronic music studio, run by Tristram Cary, who had created music for the dalek series. I didn't get to play with these machines much at the time, and had too many other instruments to wrap my head around (and left after a year to go busking & play in rock bands  ).

I was fiddling with the flexor modular factory patch "OddHarm" when it squirted out what sounds pretty much exactly like the very first sound you hear on the Dr Who theme music

Which made me wonder - has anybody here tried to recreate some of these sounds on the modular?

interesting how they made that theme - found this on the subject. Test tone generators!

wasn't it work of BBC Radiophonic Workshop,
also guilty of Hitchiker's Guide?

Yeh, i remember i've seen Peter Cushing's films on our telly years ago as a little boy, quite scary (very probably it scorched me mind for good
just because you cannot imagine something that doesn't exclude it from reality.
