crackling problem when using sound card destination

Hi

I cannnot send a wave out signal from my creamware to my Audigy ZS Plat Pro without crackling and sometimes the audio speeds up and slows down. I have tried aligning the sample rates between the two cards and this reduced a lot of the crackling but the crackle is still obvious...

That never worked decently, at best it introduced a heap of extra latency for the Audigy.

Does the Audigy have S/P-DIF IO, can you slave it to the Pulsar on one connection and send its audio back over the other line?

But really, why having Audigy in a Pulsar machine?

I bought the Audigy first, before I knew anything much about digital audio, thinking that I had bought a pretty high-end card. I then discovered the difference between consumer and pro equipment so decided to upgrade to something that had balanced INs, GSIF and DSPs. There is no need to look down on the Audigy as it is a great unit, mostly due to the IO breakout box, which is the handiest thing in the universe. I don't have to go to the back of my PC to make or change audio connections with my Audigy. It even has two firewire ports. Creative could have done a lot more and boasted a lot less but it's definately a good backup. The breakout box has almost every connection (although some at 48/24 only) you could want...

If the sound card destination doesn't work then it doesn't work, I only wanted it as a temporary measure...

I don't own an Audigy card but I heard someone mentioning some free ASIO drivers that where faster than the original. You could try those.

Those may have been the KxProject drivers which are a very ambitious project (they give the audigy some of the DSP and routing abilities and envirnoment that SCOPE has, plus GSIF support) and I have tried them but could only get them to work at 48/24

If you look in the Device Manager, under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers", there is an entry called "Media Control Devices". Click on that, go to Properties, click on "mciwave.dll", choose Properties again then click on Settings. Try increasing the buffer seconds.

Also, in the Run box, type "dxdiag" go to sound section and choose basic acceleration.

Also, in SFP, check your ULLI settings, choose 13sec latency.

Also, your Scope/Pulsar has a buffer setting in the Device Manager.

These are some settings you can try.

Tried your nice reccomendations but the crackling still remains. It also gets fater and slows down, so no change there...

Does the 'Sound card destination' module work for other people?

My first posting in this forum (i hope you understand my translation from german to english)!
I have the same problems with the "soundcard dest" module.With my old soundblaster live and with my new soundblaster audigy 2 it´s tha same.I connected my old SB by using a SPDIF-cable,but my new SB does not have it (i don´t want to buy an external connectorbox).Is there anybody in the world who can help us??

the soundcard destination module is a legacy from the first software version - there IS no use for it anymore. Period.

you probably don't want to slave your Scope card to the 'master' clock of a whatsoever Blaster

That kind of cards is infamous for it's unstable clock (so-called jitter) which may result in THD ratios similiar to well driven tube amps (but not as nice sounding).
OK, that's a bit exaggerated, but the SB's analog output is probably much cleaner and you don't run into the master/slave trouble.

Thanks for the reply,i think that i should connect the cards by the analog way.It´s only for monitoring,for recording i will take the asiodrivers.
