Percussion-programming never was my strongest side, which is quite evident here, still I think the middlepart came out pretty interesting and intense, mayby because of the weak programming around it?

I never found an accoustic bass-sample that I really liked, and this one has been given the treatment of one reason compressor, one Vinco, one Optimaster besides the optimaster on the whole mix..... poor bass, and I don't even think it's there yet, but close.

The synth playing the pad is the Malström which I think makes beautiful sounds - It reminds me of the Vectron, which is one of my favorites.

reminds me of algorythmically composed pieces. Their drums often turn out like this.

The bass solo in the middle is great. It strangely has power in the performance, somewhat close to a very passionate cello solo. It made me want more.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes the drums sounds automated and unispired, which I guess they are.... The bass is played live on my keyboard and then finetuned after that, which might explain the power in the performance.

If you want more check out spiderman: http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=17&7 - It's made from the same principles as "from", the drum-programming is bit more successful though, ut the bass might not be as inspired as in "spiderman".

well, I didn't mean they were "uninspired".. I meant it captured that peculiar "feel" that algorythmic pieces portray.. something kinda fractal, and a bit "math"ish.

Perhaps that feel comes from the fact that many avantgarde music makers of the time were trying to steer away from the regular accent on 2 and 4 type drumming. Which is a good thing, of course, in opening new possibilities of drum aesthetics.

I enjoyed this - it was a nice trip. I know you have covered your issues with your percussion programming - but it worked well here and gave it an unusual and bizarre feel. Much more effective than a tired old funk loop if you ask me.
