You have told scope which connection to get sync from ie ADAT A/B etc? It defaults to spdif. I have Scope slaved to ext digital mixer here without probs.

within scope-in the sample rate settings, you can select the sample rate source for any thing other than zlink-if you notice-next to zlink a and zlink b there are no buttons for you to choos e this mode (because of this i thought it would automatically pick up the signal-obviously not) ive managed to set scope as slave succesfully when using adat but thats no good cos none of my outbourd connects to the adat ins of the a16-its all analogue

the A16U automatically syncs to Scope's rate via zlink if Scope is set as master, according to what I've read.

cheers, tom

if you are having zlink sync problems, i would double check your a16 settings.

But will it sync when the a16 is master? That's what he wants to do.

sorry, badly written by me, I was referring to the statement about sample rate negotiation

based on something in my memory like: via zlink it will pick whatever is set as Scope's clockrate

In my understanding there is no master/slave mode on zlink connections because it's a custom protocol.
Master/Slave would then apply to optical connections only (which seem to work as intended).
Imho a zlinked A16U would be supposed to act as an adat master if combined with other gear.
I don't have such a unit, so take this as an inspiration only and not based on facts

cheers, Tom
