setying a16ultra as master
i have a16 ultra with power pulsar connected via zlink . runnin scope 3.1c and logic5.5. occasionaly get sync errors. currently have a16u set as slave but cos i have quite a bit of outboard-wanna use a16 as master. when i set it as master, and scope as slave, scope doesnt recognise the sync signal?! answers on a postcard please!
within scope-in the sample rate settings, you can select the sample rate source for any thing other than zlink-if you notice-next to zlink a and zlink b there are no buttons for you to choos e this mode (because of this i thought it would automatically pick up the signal-obviously not) ive managed to set scope as slave succesfully when using adat but thats no good cos none of my outbourd connects to the adat ins of the a16-its all analogue

sorry, badly written by me, I was referring to the statement about sample rate negotiation
In my understanding there is no master/slave mode on zlink connections because it's a custom protocol.
Master/Slave would then apply to optical connections only (which seem to work as intended).
Imho a zlinked A16U would be supposed to act as an adat master if combined with other gear.
I don't have such a unit, so take this as an inspiration only and not based on facts
cheers, Tom
based on something in my memory like: via zlink it will pick whatever is set as Scope's clockrateOn 2004-05-27 19:45, Refrochai wrote:
