I got a feeling this is impossible as I can find nothing in the manual about it but is there a way to rearrange plugins in Cubase SX.
Lets say you put a couple of insert effects on an audio channel in your mixer but then want to add something before it, do you have to unload and reload the existing 2 into other slots or is there a way to drag them around?
If its not supported wouldnt this be damn useful? Same goes for Scope Mixers too I guess..
Anyway, if I am missing something Id appreciate being enlightened
in Cubase 5.0 it's the same
I never found a way to work around, you'll have to save each effect as a file, and reload it again in another channel.
This reorganisation of the effects chain can be very annoying sometimes

Although I would find the function usefull, to move plugins up/down as simple as in Fruityloops, I don't often use SpaceF's MedInsert S-XLm24. It has 3 (!!) preset lists, this little device: one for the dry/wet faders, one for the LP/HP filters and one general.
Point is, this insert plugin has flexible routing, one slider lets you choose the signal order thru the multi fx.
Oddly enough you CAN reorder plugins in another Steinberg product: Wavelab--simply click & drag an insert from one slot to another. It would be nice if Steinberg were able to achieve this in the Nuendo/sx engine as well. I know that the engine had problems in 1.0 with reordering groups and other audio objects. Sometimes only the sends & outputs would be rearranged, but sometimes you could lose a plugin or two entirely on project reload. 2.0 replaced groups & send fx and supposedly 2.2 fixed the other reordering issues, though I can't say for sure as I don't own 2.x. In any case hopefully there aren't similar considerations for insert slots.
I'm sure all Logic users know that they can use the Audio>"Audio Configuration" window to move plugins (RightClick & drag) or copy plugins (Ctrl+RightClick & drag) to any other unused insert slot on any audio object.
Of course in SFP if you use the SFP workspace's routing options rather than inserts your flexibility is drastically improved over even logic or steinberg.
