MIDI & SFP INSTRUMENTS...
Hello, I just got the PulsarII with SFP and I'm trying to play around with it and Cubase VST 5.2 on a mac g4. I've followed all of the instructions with OMS and all and it's seems to be working alright with midi in Cubase. After I programmed some groove with the eds 8i I tried to programme on another channel some fm one, but I'm still getting sounds from the eds 8i. (sorry this'll be kind of long) I then went into Cubase and set up another instrument on the new track and named it "fm one" and set the channel to 2, but in SFP the way the midi seems to be I'm still kind of getting both sounds. You know, I just want to programme one instrument and then move on to the next with out still hearing the last instrument on the keyboard. How do I route seperate midi to the instruments in SFP? (this is a mighty programme)
Yeah, I switched from omni to single channel 1, 2, etc on the instrument in SFP. I'm even trying it again now on a new sequence with the eds8i on channel 1, both on the instrument & in Cubase and the ezsynth on channel 2. Hmm funny...

There are many ways to workaround this.
Like putting a midi filter module or preparing a project with multi 'sequencer dest' modules but they will be workarounds and we want to get rid of it, isn't it?
Can you, please show us your sfp project window? To do this just hit "command" + "shift" + "3"; the picture will appear in your MacHD root path. Convert it to jpg and go tho the projects subforum and post it there. Or just e-mail me your project file to see it.

Actually guys, I think I've got it sorted. It's funny, I always would start with the eds8i and it would play sounds on other midi channels, but then I just started another synth first and all of a sudden it started working fine. Of course I wigled a few of the cubase midi ch & settings around, but for the most part it's slammin, rockin hard, yes!! I'm thinking I need to start investing in some of the plug ins soon. I think like that sts5000. Then after get the modIII. I've got my 50eur discount so the more expensive will just be over 100eur. These sounds are cool, but I just need that super sampler so that I don't have to even access so many synths.
Peace

ok, I'm off topic to the original question, but you may want to rethink that statementOn 2004-05-16 15:34, annecyops wrote:

A sampler can freeze a moment in an arbitrary instrument's play, for example one special filter sweep, but it has no abilities to conserve the sound forming elements.
Another example is FM synthesis which can be extremely sensitive to key response, note position, aftertouch etc - or synths with complex modulation capabilities like Vectron and Solaris.
I think you get the idea...
cheers, Tom
