Ok i gave up trying to use ASIO with ACID it would kick the drivers at the most inopportune moment (like just when i finished recording a track)

So i decide to use WDM drivers. everything is fine until i Use a bus connected to a second or higher wav source. it gets crackle.

no crackle on first wav source but crackle on every one after.

loaded up fruity and it crackles on any wav source.

windows sounds also crackle.

It is very annoying!

No crackle using delays or verbs so i do not think it is IRQ or PCI problem.

p4 2.4 P4C800 deluxe
Scope + pulsar1 (19 DSP)
ATI 9600 pro
1GB DDR

IRQs forced in BIOS
standard PC
pci latency = 128

I recently changed from a CUSL2 and i did not have any problems like this.

I have also tried using a matrox g450 card with bus mastering turned off, and it made no difference. (and it is slow)

also reinstalled scope drivers.

DOH! after all it was the mixer. the STM2448
very peculiar but when i delete it and reload then the crackle dissapeared. and that it would still cracke after restarting machine and SFP.

it is strange it was only crackling with WDM and not ASIO though.

now i have to remember where all my inserts were set to

You can still get the files for the contest if you want - I think the project is still open, waiting for Nestor's final word.
Let me know, I'll load them back up for you.

BTW, about the crackles - I often get projects where the audio sounds overloaded and I have to locate and replace the offending module. Sometimes a mixer, sometimes an ASIO driver, sometimes Interpole or Vinco. Strange how SFP projects decay when they're sitting on the HD.
