Lost comunication sound card

My music programs have lost comunication with the pulsar 2 soundcard.. Sfp is still present and opens ok. Sx still loads up xtc. Error messages- lost comunication with soundcard try restarting. Done all that! Fruity loops wont open at all.

I had done a virus scan beforehand and maybe it has change the format?? Also done a defrag and that is all ok..

Any ideas ?
