here is my contribution for the remix contest.
First I have to say that it was great to work with John,Ken and Nestor on this project. All files they´ve recorded where great and we had a great pool of samples to remix. Fact is, four different people from four different countries mades music together. This would never happen without Nestors contest idea.
I need two and a half day aprox.18 hours to get all things together and deliever you this remix.
I haven´t used many effects only a SFP stereo delay(LCR LS) and SFP EQs.
For the track mastering, I´ve quckliy built a small modular patch with limiter, expander and compressor and EQs.
For Nestors voice samples, I´ve built a modular patch with two vocal filters, two distortion modules, two lowpass filter and two SSB Delays along with many CoSine LFOs to control the cutoffs, resonance etc. of the filters.
My main aim on this remix was to bring as many samples from all participants together as possible but there were so many samples that I couldn´t use all of them.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this remix and this is a worthy birthday present.
Thanks to all participants, you´ve made this contest possible and I had much fun with it.

Very nice Chris!
Wow, how different it is from the one I did myself. I’m surprised we can come up with such different things using exactly the same samples. It is DEAD INTERESTING… I was dying of curiosity exactly because of this… The same samples in hands of different composers, perhaps, a very revealing thing is that despite this all, I could immediately feel your own way, your personal style, which is quite often marked by a cosmic, atmospheric feeling.
I don’t know if it was just me, but there is some distortion in the final mix itself, like overcompressed or something, is this what you want?
I loved the guitar sounds, very nice indeed. They were so thin and finished so big and moody sounding,.
Something special happened about the voices, for some reason my wife cannot stop laughing at it, she’s got sort of a hilarious state of mind, so for the moment cannot explain me what is going on… but I guess she is just amused at how I sound.
I too tried to use as many samples as possible, in fact, I used all of the other contestants samples.
I can’t tell which style this would be, but I does work as a trance track in some moments.
I would like to know which effects you have used cos there are quite interesting things going on there…
Oh yes, we did have some serious fun here… it is so interesting to share this way… Thanks for your participation Chris

Haha, sorry to disturb the peace in your house a bit with my work on your voice Nestor.
I´ve done an old trick and import the voice samples to a lower sample frequence, so it plays longer and deeper, a way of time stretching, when you want.
Then I´ve built the effect modular patch for the effects on your voice, Neil said you sound like an alien now. I can post the patch if somebody wants it.
In fact I´ve tried to fusion the vocal pad samples with your voice and to the end (second last planet Z voice) it worked nicely.
Also I´ve used some drum samples with this modular patch several times in the track.
Of course, I´ll tell you what I´ve done when you can explain me what interesting things you mean. I used only the effects I´ve listen in the upload text.
Hmm, it can be that I´ve compressed the bass sounds a bit to much, can somebody confirm that please?
Thanks for your response and I hope your wife is relaxed again.

Hi Chris!
I love the distant meditative quality you start with in the opening. It's really neat to hear the samples in this spacey context-- totally different from where they started. Especially for me personally, it's neat to hear my vibes/guitar parts floating around on your planet
And Nestor's poor tortured voice... I had to laugh, but not quite as much as Nestor's wife!
Comment on the mp3 quality-- it does seem like the kicks/bass is all a bit mushy/distored-- I wonder if your mastering was a little excessive on the low end??
This has been a fun experience. I hope Ken will have the time to make his remix too.
Cheers,
-John
