Having a strange problem with Acrobat Reader 5.0, please hel

I installed Acrobat Reader 5.0 from the Asus CD of my MOBO, and it worked find till yesterday... Suddantly, it didn't open anymore... I've tryed many different ways and tnothing happens.

Then I uninstalled it, cleaned the registry just in case it was something to do with it, reinstalled and again, nothing.

Well, I uninstalled it again, then installed it to another drive cos I need is much cos I'm studding through PDF books. Nothing...

Have you had any problems of the like? How did you solve it? What can I do to read Acrobat Reader files other than using Acrobat Reader program, is there a substitute?

Have you simply downloaded the reader again and reinstalled ?

Photoshop and ImageReady will open PDFs (same company!).

get the newer acrobat. I think it's ver 6

Yes, I did... I've tryed downloding again from the net and had even donwloaded and tryed to install the A.R. 5.2 security patch, which is to prevent "Acrobat Reader Crashes".

The curious thing is that the update does not find any Acrobat Reader files into the system (!?), this is too strange... so I'm thinking I may have a virus or a worm, I don't know really.

I'll check for the latest version Ken, let see what happens. Cheers to both of you.

Cheers... Version 6.0 works fine again... but I always would like to know what this strange problem was... I guess I have no time to make a research of why a program doews not work... I should work in Adobe for it...
