Hi.

I had this same question up on the Creamware forums, but since they are rather slow, I´ll try my luck here.

Just wondering, is the old Vocoder 2 at all usable in the SFP v3.1c software? (Im using a Mac)

Ive been desperately trying to get it to work, but to no avail.
Triggering proper analysis and synthesis signals into it works, I see the respective meters bobbing up and down, but there is no out signal at all from the device.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

P.S. Someone reminded me the Vocoder needs a midi in note to function, which I have had connected at all times. Still there is no out signal on the vocoder. This is what led me to believe it doesnt function under the SFP v3.1c software.

All information would be appreciated.

hi Nisse, and welcome

I dunno any details about the what and why of this behaviour (it's definetely not Mac related) but it works the following way:
you have to put something in both insert slots below the In/Out bands to activate the output - if at least one slot is empty it stops immediately.
You may apply a useful effect or just something like an always open gate to keep it active, and of course the midi note.

cheers, Tom

Wow! Thanks a bunch, Tom!

To be quite honest, I would never had thought of that myself. Naive as I was, I thought the device would work properly if you just supplied it with the correct analysis and synthesis signals, and of course the midi note.
