non sequiter.
you're comparing mental patients on prozac whose rampages killed tens and had nothing to do with religion with true mass murderers of millions and millions who were avowed atheists? you are saying the guys i mentioned didn't commit mass murders that were well documented and that those guys weren't well documented atheists as well?
strange way of avoiding reality.......
those guys with rifles and clips killed what is a drop in the hat compared to the numbers killed in traffic accidents. these killings are more than tragic, especially personally to each family, whom my heart goes out to, but hardly an overwhelming problem considering just how many weapons are out there(stop prescribing prozac like it's candy and the biggest shootings don't even happen at all. EVERY single mass shooter since the first biggy at the mcdonalds to columbine to VT, was on seratonin uptake inhibitors). back to comparing autos, or better, prescription drugs or even gas heat in houses, you'll find a very small percentage of problems from all these weapons, relatively. there IS a lot of fear mongering though, acting like common people can't ever be trusted, unlike your average atheist communist military leader who is not doing his job if he doesn't kill at least 500,000.

ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS ARE ATTEMPTS TO DRAW THE DISCUSSION OFF TOPIC, HOWEVER! the topic is christopher hitchens and his book and whether he's worth listening to. mr hitchens has pretty well shown that he is a hypocrite who blames religion for warmongering and then plays the warmonger himself.
i don't care if you are an atheist, that's your business.
