Info from NAMM regarding XITE, Scope 5 and Solaris
Re: Info from NAMM regarding XITE, Scope 5 and Solaris
Many celebritiies stopped by.
Both of these guys loved XITE-1 and Solaris.
OJ was impressed w/ the quality of the mic pre's.
And Mr. Matrix 12, XPander himaself gave a nod of approval.

Some questions :
1) The Solaris synth - is that a generic platform, so JB could make different synth (not just updates) available for the platform? You could choose which synth to load at start up?
2) Will there be ANY difference between the Solaris HW and the same plugin running on XITE at 96kHz? If so, will there be a XITE version which is identical to the hardware?
3) Will SC continue and expand the cooperation with Softube for additional plugins, like comps etc.?

i'll ask tomorrow.
Re: Info from NAMM regarding XITE, Scope 5 and Solaris
They are born of the same womb, but Solaris hardware sounds incredibly larger in person.
I assume the 96k hardware version cannot be mimicked by the software, as I have both.
I was floored at the incredibly powerful lush pads.
The layout of the synth for a live performer is perfect.
Oscillators are all on the upper left, filters on the upper right, joystick and ribbon are exactly where they should be, and the sound....................Jeez, what can I say other than the NAMM show had many synths, but not like Solaris.
I really like panning the 2 Waldorf Wave Oscillators hard right, and 2 MulitModes hard left and playing an 8 voice layered patch...........................Fuckin' Incredible.
Many will say " Gosh the Virus is only xxxx amount of dollars and has 96 voice polyphony."
Maybe so, but Solaris doesn't need more than 16 voices to assert it's authorative sound.
I am sure it also has 512 presets.................all I can say is it will be needing them.

Re: Info from NAMM regarding XITE, Scope 5 and Solaris
thank you for the posts guys that's great ! I suppose we will have more details very soon ... I think that the good news for SC is that there is no real competitor... Even UAD just launch a solo version for laptop which is a good idea but does not help a lot people (like me) who need also an audio interface AND external HDs ... To be continued ...

Re: Info from NAMM regarding XITE, Scope 5 and Solaris
One can crank up the polyphony on several channels of synths, and like on our older cards one voice at a time on high loads shows movement on the DSP meter. 8 voices at a time w/ XITE-1 is instantaneous w/ no noticable movement using a stock Modular or synth........ankyu.

Next year - BOOTH BABESgaryb wrote:well i spent some time friday making sure that they did, and i'm gonna do the same sunday. yes, it's going over VERY well. it looks like a great product. S/C and John's booth is on the far edge of the show and downstairs, but there is traffic and people are interested. there's a little buzz(talk talk) about XITE and Scope upstairs and even Digidesign came down to take a look. Scope isn't burning down the building or anything, it's a little bit obscure, but i really feel good about the response and think that Holger and Jurgen will sell quite a few of them...petal wrote:Tell us about the interest from people at the booth - are "new" people impressed with XITE and Solaris? Do they get it at all?

Re: Info from NAMM regarding XITE, Scope 5 and Solaris
annoying guitar player in the background couldn't stop playing for one second
Looks great though! So cool to have Scope running on a laptop!!
Too bad I'll never be able to afford it unless they introduce a cut-down version at some point.

well, he was selling his line of effects, so he pretty much played all weekend. the din is pretty amazing in that huge cavern full of noisy people demonstrating things that make noise. i can't believe how well Greg and i can be heard, to my chagrin... people really had to speak up to hear each other, not yelling, but no whispering, for sure.
