Yeah....Preferrably with dark backgrounds.
This little invention has taken the world by storm.
Every new drum machine has backlit pads mimmicking it.
I was somewhat disappointed at the pad machines at NAMM.
Monome can do what those junk boxes can, plus much much more.
Besides these NAMM threads are tiring and need to go to the bottom of the threads.. :o
This thing outsold everything at NAMM, and is way more exciting than the re packaged regurgitations I wasted time on looking at.
How about flames and a grill option? Or little spoked wheels on each corner for easy desktop rolling.........sorry, I couldn't resist.
I will use velcroe and stick on a new KS88 since I couldn't find a replacement for that either.

you must be having fun, especially once you can use all of molars sometimes confusing features..
it just stays in sync all the time and works great (better then a lot of commercial vst!)
i just wish there was a way to fix that stupid tiny font. i know deadmau5 designed the interface and all, looks like he made it for mice5 to read :D

(if you have cubase, did you have any trouble getting molar to save your settings?)
i got it to work, most monome people seem to prefer ableton.

did you see the MTRxox sequencer? its like a 808 style MIDI sequrncer that can also output Velocity and CCs per pad. looks fast and fun to use, (i still have to wait for a part for my other monome so i can use 128 apps :( )

I am having tonns of fun right now :D
The sync with molar is perfect.I have just saved the cubase song( i use 3.1) not individual sets but i will work this out today saving just the song works as expected all samples and changes stay including pattern position on the monome.
I am interrested in ableton 8 with the max addon. But i need to dig into the Max5 runtime today.I will check out the MTRxox sequencer!
So far this is a very nice way to make music in way differrent ways and i am 100% happy with it.Installing it was also a breathe of good surprises. Its not half as complicated then i thought it would be.Back to cubase now :D

Just jammed around with mlr and boing for one hour using quadrants to split the monome into 2 64´s.Its really nice how you can loop and record external instruments thru mlr.I chopped up some samples from my jp8000 in no time.
A heads up, the 64´s are up for sale on the monome website at 1 est.19:00 German time.200 are available so if you want one get one now. :)

These are exciting items and thanks for the jpegs.
I can't afford to pay attention right now I am so broke....... .......ankyu.
I appreciate all the details you guys come up with.
Buying the 64's seems like buying a Luna card.....you'll want more.

actually the monomeserial driver program is very clever like that. if you have to 64s (or 40hs which are bigger "kit form" 64s but function the same)
you can make any app think you have a 128 (or even 256, with 4of them)

for instance i could use 1 of my 40h to control molar and one to control something else like polygome, or use them both together to use the bigger version of molar with more accessible features and all the volume, filter etc steps on one page (of 2 monomes).

many of the apps are designed for 64/40h as well because more people have them, of course you can devide your big monome up in to 64s as well.

akai had a major failed opportunity with that ableton controller. they just needed 2 more rows of buttons :D

yeah i wish you could feed a live stream into molar and chop/loop it like a sample
but the next best thing is to do this.

"loop record takes" into a folder, see if you can set up a foot pedal to turn recording on and off.
set a loop in molar to use that same folder, and after you play a lick, you can quickly "next wav" or folder select wav (you can do it right from the monome) to it with molar.
and there will be no stretching , because you just recorded it :D
its really fun with guitar too, even if your not very good at it :p

looks like you 128 owners do have "live looping"
i think you need to change it to vst mode from vsti so you have an input.

press the wav button and the 3rd button from the right (also on the bottom row)
its supposed to start live looping, if thats what i think it is.

heses some molar shortcuts in case you havent seen it.

Stop it :D
I am working on a new tune using eds 16i with boing(java in max runtime5),reaktor5 with Polygome(max5) and some selfmade loops in molar vst.All the virtuell midi routing eeek...but so far all syncs up well and runs perfect.Best thing on all this is the way you can ...just play parts into cubase....it has more of a live creating feeling which i really enjoy. :)

And just now a new app has come out where you can run different apps simultan and switch betwen em with a button press...or a midi cc. :D

I saw that today at work. now i have even more reason to build the second 40h box so they can play at being a 128
I havent tried any chuck apps though. do they still use monomeserial? because thats what lets you fake 2 monomes together in to one bigger one.

Today i was pondering buying max/msp because i want to make an app Myself.

I ordered some other boards today to make an arduionome 128, which is even smaller than a 128. im making it with buttons like the "octopus" sequencer.
but thats a project for after my CNC mill is finished.(the looooong term project :D)
