what will be the destiny of the LUna and Pulsar 1 card creamware will retire??
i wonder if it will be possible to "re-buy" them in the future at a very special LOW price...

Yeah I was wondering that too, what are they going to do with the old cards? They must have some purpose with them otherwise why not just make a "buy a pulsar 2/powerpulsar at lower price than normal" kind of offer instead of this weird "exchange" policy.
Maybe they'll grind them into core components and use it to make cereal?

I've already bought the Pro Pack, so I have the 24/48 canal mixer and FXes Pack 2 with my Pulsar 1.
I've purchased the Modular II, and then Modular III; I've bought the Minimax and the Vinco and the Arpeg02 and the Vectron and the Optimaster and the Masterverb Pro and the Poison and the SB 404 and the EDS 16i...

So, is it a good deal for me to exchange my Pulsar 1 plus 599€ with a Pulsar 2? I'll got 2 more DSPs and the S-Mux for that price, and it's all...

Do you think 599€ is a cheap price for 2 DSPs and the S-Mux? I don't think so...

As you can see, I was a faithfull customer since the beginning...Maybe if I write to Creamware they'll do a REAL offer to me, I must try...But this email is not a real offer to me, as you can see

you can still use the devices you've already got.(they can be transferred to the new card)

I think he means to say 599,- is a bit steep for just two extra DSP's (and S-mux) because he already has all the extra software, (which I think is the case for many of the people who bought the Pulsar 1 of Luna 1 all those years ago.)

yeah,i can see that.if you don't need the upgrade(ulli and better pci performance) and this is not about approaching obsolescence, there's really no reason to do it....i have a pulsar one and i'll probably keep it,even though i'm considering another cw card for my video machine.

I think for owners of 3DSP cards the deal is ok. 400 + 600 = 1000 for a Pulsar2 is ok. For me, with a Pulsar1, 1000 + 600 = 1600, it's not. And I think for most others with all upgrades done the offer is very uninteresting. (1000 + 300 + 600 = 1900)It's good that they offer it, but the price, for me, is too high. 350€.
Only the upgrade to PowerPulsar has something.

I wonder though, from the earlier comment about something new in the works from CW, whether there may be a new board not compatible with Pulsar-I.
That's possible, but I'm thinking if Creamware are intending to release new hardware, that it may not be compatible with any of the current SHARC based cards (Ie: It's about time they started to utilize some of the newer generation DSP's IMHO). Anyway, this is pure speculation on my part too...

interesting that all of the economic models on this deal treat their 1st gen purchases as though they were speaking about new cards.(for example 1000 + 600 =1600)this is a failing grade in the class(econ 101) as everyone knows that the old card has depreciated to $400-$500. in this case, for he who was thinking of replacing the old card for a new, maybe selling the old card, the math is fine @ 450 + 600 =1050.

this should make users of the platform happy, since a card the age of pulsar1 is usually considered obsolete and worthless, yet here the owners find it to be still worth the same as a second gen card.(at least in each individual's system)

hmmmm...

There is no selling of old card. The important is the key, the right to use and dealing with rights is different from objects. (econ 102) If I sell I must get the Xmas, on the other hand I could buy a Luna and have, in the end, 1 DSP more for 2/3 of the requested money. So no matter how to calculate: 350.
