UPDATE:
Installed the PT 10 demo yeasterday and the darn thing works!! it works!! Pro tools seems faster to - and more stable - they did something good this time, for a change!;)
To get it working:
1: go to bios and disable Hyperthreading (as suggested by SC)
2:Go to device manager and click your scope card and set midi devices to 1 (if it is set to 2), and disable reset board if idle ( step 2 may not be neccesery to do - i just had it done earlier and didnt want to undo it)
3:right click the PT 10 icon and click settings - set to always run as administrator and disable rebuild desktop)
4:Right click your desktop and select personalize and choose a theme that is NOT AERO.
5: Inside pro tools: go to playback engine and set your cpu use to half your total cpu - i have a QUAD core, i can only use 2 cpu's - otherwise PT starts acting up again.
6: Tick "ignore cou overloead message" (or whatever its called:) - then i new box (minimize additonal in/out latency) will appear, tick that as well.

Of course, the problems might have been on my specific setup only, try a combination of my tips ( or all) and see if it solves your problems, and please write in this thread if you have any extra tips/tricks or if you didnt need to apply ALL of the things i wrote above.
