Hm...wasn´t it so, that one is in need of a certain ASPI driver for Reading Akai Cds?
Yep, but I've got that installed & the Scope file browser is having no problems reading our Akai CDs & I can drop programs from them into the STS sampler. This old version of the S1100 software just doesn't support reading .p or .s files.

Can't you extract the CD to the harddrive and load from there anyway? I seem to recall that's what I did when fiddling with the STS series...(optical drive loading is annoying on a machine with multiple HD's).

I reverse engineered Akai disk and CD formats for S900 - S3200 some (15) years ago for data recovery purposes.
I may be able to extract the raw samples for you but not the programs.
I have a S3200XL, if you want to send the CD (to Australia) I'll see what I can do.
What do you want them converted to?

Eric.

Just remembered, I have an Atari program that reads them. :)

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the proposal!
But I have cd-Xtract 4, it is just not installed right now.
I will be able to manage the conversion without hassling you :-)
But many thanks for the proposal..
It's just been so long without dealing with those that i forgot "my ways" (several years without akais, cds, or sample conversions...)

... memory recovery mode engaged... ;-)

Atari reading akai ? :o
that's impressive !
