I will look into shortcircuit, thanks. I have the 2 best conversion apps out there so gig files become STS, Kontackt, or whatever I want. It only requires a little work to re create a keyswitch or simialr patch. Afterall if you can program an Emulator sampler, all other apps become very easy to understand. Their Z Plane filters and editing features are xtreme.

I am very content w/ GVI /GS4 and really hope the STS samplers get pushed into this century either now in XITE-1 or in a later update. That is my wish.

You are always on the ball w/ workarounds, tips and apps that aren't mainstream. Thanks for your concerns and sharing of information.

Cheers,

If you're gonna try it, there's 2 versions.

v1 - this is finished and stable.. it's what I use.
v2 - the guy didn't get round to finishing it (lack of time and sales :( )

Some users say v2 is usable but it's an unknown, stability-wise.

So now giga studio is free? How can they just stop selling it when all the development is done already. That doesn't make sense.

Oh that would be sweet if it is open source. Sometimes what happens to orphaned software is it gets sold to smaller and smaller companies and it winds up really cheap.

But just like everyone wanting instruments that can play themselves instead of learning music, developers want easy to use tools for developing, hence KonQuackt.

Just read these censored threads over at the communist forum called Northern Sound Source, and notice how chords being sampled is on the top of the list for features. Jesus H. Christ...spread your lazy ass fingers over the keyboard and play the damn thing yourself !!

NS Forums banish the mere mentioning of the company's name if it doesn't pay them proper tribute. Regardless of the quality of the product. I search for the censored products as they are often excellent in quality, and I often make posts that are a constant source of irrataion to the " elite all knowing, party ruling, moderators ".

Now here again is living proof of the sucess and comradery of this excellent and FREE forum we belong to. I for one donate a meger amount of money yearly.

John Cooper once again rules the best " demoratically free " forum known to man, it reminds me of Nevada where people's votes still count.

Meanwhile Back At The Ranch ...................R.I.P. Gigastudio.

Giga is shot.......get over it, and move on.

but hey there are a lot of gigs out there, to be bought at an mor reasonable price. and for your sampling session...a tracker may be a choice, too. Jus bounce the stuff and integrate it in your normal sequencer ;)

I have Emulator X and Kontakt 3 - got Emu X 2 cheap for £70 - I must admit I prefer Kontakt 3 but I think it will go down the custom engine route for all the different sample developers - prob better as the engine will be tailor made for the sort of sounds they market

I do think NI could put a lot more effort into Kontakt -it's good - but not awesome

Since NI seems to be doing ok with the massive streaming library rompler crowd, I suspect they just figure Reaktor is more suited to going further with sound design sampler needs.
