We had one fall here a while back - Skylab.

what do you expect in winter, anywhere on earth ?
and all those 'extreme' reports in recent years... well, it's probably the omnipresence of 'news-communication' in even the most remote locations and a general change towards a more 'sensational' driven way of reporting

I’m not sure either, but I wouldn’t demise their findings so fast… We don’t have proves for one side, or the other of the coin. If we want to be truly scientific in our approach, we should nor deny or believe in anything, but rather listen to what people have to say, and then investigate by oneself.

well, I wrote 'believe' (not that I 'know'), and reminded that 'winter' typically is the season for snow and sometimes for extraordinairy amounts.
It's currently snowing in Israel - a couple of years ago it did on my favourite holiday location in the Aegean Sea.
When I was a schoolboy I visited Tunesia and local people told me it would (occasionally) really snow on those (small) mountains outside town.
I couldn't believe them at all as I've never been in a physically more hot spot in my life

and it reminds me the name of the greek island of XIOS actually means 'snow'
that about climate changes

I whish I had the time to research onto all these things, I mean, the weather and the manipulation you're talking about. I have seen tremendous evidences on video about it. But still is such a complex matter and it takes so much time of your life to go through these things... But still, I would love to know what is it exactly.

You're right Stardust, and also commercial interests sometimes, changes what people say. This happend also about red wine. Anyway, no matter whay they say, I love red wine forever...

I remember we once had some (really good) red wine from Chile in a 'wine around the globe' tasting meeting. You may not like the fact (for economic reasons) that it failed the test - as did the brands from Australia, SouthAfrica, California, British Columbia (surprisingly well).

But you'll probably agree that it's an environmental nonsense to ship millions of litres across the ocean, when the destination region has a local production of either great quality.
The wines were all nice and well done, so it wasn't a matter of quality, but of reason.

Unfortunately the company later closed the wine distribution channel... and we really miss those events when the 'expert' had selected a few good bottles to introduce...

Anyway, the red wine mystery
whatever chemistry there is inside, those studies simply missed the point - imho.
People who enjoy red wine really do that - enjoy.
They have a good meal, a nice conversation, perhaps some music and dance...
They don't pour it down to get drunk as quick as possible.
Instead they relax - wine is a very rich experience of taste, it's something special - and that's what the the healthy effect is about, after all.
It comes from the heart, from your senses, you feel good, easy and enjoy life... even under difficult circumstances a meal (how humble it may be) and a good wine will give you those precious moments... simple, isn't it ?

You could sell your description for a advert I think… so cool it is…

Would you say the same if the wine didn't contain any alcohol? No matter how you put it, the alcohol will do its work in your body, you can't deny that.

alcohol is the carrier of the flavours - there wouldn't be much left to enjoy...
of course I don't deny it's mental and physical activity, but it's not the focus in this context.

Nestor referred to studies which tried to proove that certain substances in grapes have a positive effects on human health. The initial assumption was that a specific group of people with a longer than average lifetime had consumed red wine on a regular base (of course not in large quantities) and there had to be something good for blood vessels etc.
I don't remember it exactly (as I considered the idea rubbish from the very start on), but some years ago the idea was largely advertized and now it's obviously abandoned.

It's a rather common (and regrettable) approach in science to see the world by tunnel-view, and the disability of so called 'experts' to transcend results in their domain is frightening, considering the toys they fool around with
