a typical example of a wrong bad-taste one without the right humor...
It's completely one dimensional and expressionless.
It's about opinion, there's a subject included already, witch isn't the case with a typical general purpose smilie Image
Sorry Nestor, we differ regarding (music) taste and humor I'm afraid, but that's eh...taste :-D (btw., your letter color is 'white',
in case your monitor shows different.

Sure, there are plenty of those kind of smilies like this Image one.
But aren't we basicly talking about basic forum smilies here?
We need a well restricted list of the usual smilies, and both the old and new ones offer exactly those.
We just have to decide which ones, and I would say, just choose the old list.
They offer the same emotions like the new ones but are much better.
(Will come back on the other type of smilies Nestor).

Old members will remember my fascination with smilies.
I'm definitely oversensible regarding smilies.
If you check out http://www.mysmilies.com/?cat=happy and
related pages, you'll find a crazy bunch of great icons.
I searched for other smilie sites in the past, and I never found anything better.
Eighter the smilies weren't funny or esthetically attractive, or the site offered besides others exactly the same ones as in the link above.
Don't let me f.i. think of the MSN smilies, they are mostly ugly.

About other more specific 'smilies', as this is endless it's useless to think you can get a nice basic collection together.
Everyone who is capable to make nice own smilies is also capable to put them on a server to use them at wish.
If anyone doesn't like one of those, bad luck then, you're still free to use them!

That's what I think about the subject :-)

I realize this is a test. I am doing my own test too. I just got a feed reader and subscribed to this link. I'm joining the web 2.0 revolution! You might say what good is this? Imagine you have 50 topics from 30 sites you were following. That is a lot of surfing and a lot of clicking. You would probably randomly visit them and you would miss something.

Update:

I got my own reply back in feedreader. It works like a charm. If anyone knows a better reader, let me know. Thanks John!

It's free so just try it. Pick a thread and go to the bottom of the last page, click on the RSS/XML link then copy the URL.. Open FeedReader and under Myfeeds right click and select add new folder. Name it Creamware or Music Forums then right click on the folder and select "new external feed". Press the update button at the top. The rest you will figure out. By the way, I read your post this way.

Don't get version 2.9. Get version 3. There is a big difference.

OK now since the update, all those directions I posted are wrong. Sorry about that.
It looks like they fixed a lot of things yet I have to learn it again.

I like the old ones and I'd add some new ones. I voted for the classic ones, but my opinion would be expressed by both the first and the last options.

It seems like 'popular' might win the day.

Nestor, how about an angry one where mr. green gets chopped up or flattened or something? Damn, I can think of a lot of twisted ones, mostly horrific or x-rated though.

Nestor is a system builder :D
He immediately starts thinking how to organize stuff if some idea comes up.
Be it organizing the knowledge available on Planetz, be it a cd of planetzmembers, be it one or the other voting system for whatever, be it a bass samples cd of his own playing, or be it smilies.
All is good if it only offers work for at least ten man years, even if only say 20 regulary users of a cursory internet forum are involved. :D
Nes, I'd say with Gary, make a few ones and use them in your posts, if there's one very succesfull and popular John always can be asked to put it on the basic list.
I would be curious which ones you come up with :)

Thank you Brain for the link to feed reader, it seems to be an interesting and practical, I will definitely try it out so to get read of so much surfing, too much time sometimes.

Hey you guys, thank you for the opportunity you want to give to being creative! I think Hubird had a good point here, I do a few, try them out in the forum for real, and if you like them, we ask John to include them to the forum. Or even better (as long as I have the time to do so), I send let say, an amusement face, and you say “what’s that crapy face you’ve put on our forum, improve it in such and such a way”, and so I try to improve it, and if you don’t like it after a while, I say: “go eat some gorilla barbecue you bitch”, and we keep the old smiles... he he

Hubird, I declare you my personal psychiatrist from now on... you’ve got me...
