The problem with that is that in most of those cases musicians are like eunuchs at a gang bang, they can point it out but they can't do it(borrowed from David Steinberg).
Another thing: Have any of you noticed how few new music posts there have been since that awful thread was started?
What are we musicians good at if we're not making music, thus making people happy? or moved to tears?
Or, if we as musicians are going to react to what's going on in the Middle East, why aren't we writing a gut wrenching symphony like Shostakovich's 7th? (look it up, it's really worth a listen and a read)
I'm sure you understand what I mean.
I am soooooo depressed.....

I agree. This is a complete waste of time and it's getting us nowhere.

I dunno about anyone else, but since the thread started I have been pretty busy working on music with a few other musicians, we figured out some good ways to streamline the awful process of cleaning up poorly recorded drums. That Sonic Timeworks reverb (P-100) adds really good ambience to a mix. Are there any good 3rd party multiband compressors for the scope card?

Specially during he last days more planetz friends were in the news, which is very helpfull to make clear it was enough.
I played the devill's role, but I don't regret it at all.
I payed a price for it, as I got some enemies here, but at least it's clear we wanne be a tolerant and friendly music forum.
I got great support from some folks, but if the so tolerant majority would speak off more often, it would help alot!
let's
lounge here, not separate minds

cheers, hubert
PS. I'll upload two tracks soon, had a usefull time in the meanwhile

I will try to use my energy on some music too. I've been practicing on the weighted keyboard lately and I try to play fast to condition my fingers but my brain can't keep up and it makes me dizzy.

actually, eunuchs
can do it. in classical rome there were a number of eunuchs who were quite outrageous and scandalous in whom they bedded. since they couldn't make women pregnant, it was quite acceptable for them to be in the sex business. many became wealthy and famous that way.
people talking with each other can make a difference, i never intend anything i say to be more than that, people talking together. i'll try to tone it down a bit more, but sometimes it's as though you see someone you like eating a sh*t sandwich. you say "man, that's sh*t, don't eat that!" and they say "shut up and don't tell me what to do!" and you just gotta say, ok, whatever....

there's no point in hurting each other's feelings, though. this
is a music site.

i honestly don't think it's a problem unless it becomes vicious or disrespectful.

It's a bit like a family. There are different ways to communicate. What some families find normal, others find too confronting or seemingly aggressive.
But yeah, if we want to flame or get down in the gutter, maybe we should go do it on a VST site. I'd hate to spoil Planet Z's reputation for helpfulness.

It's not important to convince people of particular points or ideas, and ideas are not devalued because they have failed to persuade.
I think it's enough just to see the range of beliefs. And exposure to different viewpoints is always good and does have an effect.
Talk - that's the main thing people do isn't it ?

I'm lucky - many of my statements get ignored.

Granted - most of them don't make sense, but are generally harmless.

It's interesting at how many noses get out of joint around here.

paul! please rejoice in the fact that us musicians flex our hearts!
I am sure we will all connect again soon enough, and be a stronger community. Why ? in the future we wont let it spiral down this far I think
I am sure enough of us can now start focussing on new more productive threads! can't we ?
so in my opinion we let shroomz close the thread and moderate it so no new posts can be made.
