Yeah, NAMM showed a 'trend-shift' in companies getting into bundling plugins into boxes with dedicated processors and nifty software appendages for setup-and-carry type configurations.

So, as far as an overall paradigm, then I think Xite is still positioned well.

SC's only marketing issue may be promoting the distinction of dedicated DSP vs. the currently bloated CPU/RAM/VST paradigm. Still apples and oranges comparison, but hey - the general public are relatively ignorant about these things sometimes. :D

The V-Machine is cool (basically a scaled down Receptor), but is still underpowered, and can't handle the big VST's and RAM-intensive apps that is the OTHER trend going on now - big gnarly, juicy ROMplers and Sample-engines that need ever-more CPU/RAM/throughput.

So, IMO, it's time to get some horsepower for the future that will last a while (perhaps even negating having to get a new computer every year or two), and grow with it.

Here Ya Go.............These guys are pissing on my back, and trying to tell me that it's raining.
I gambled on Solaris & XITE-1, and it paid off in spades. I can only imagine they did this to get Muse Receptor nervous, a shrewd move indeed, but Muse released a small little bitty box also. SM Pro audio came back w/ a rack to use 3 V Machines for.........
I am actually glad SCore doesn't have time to waste playing such games. These tactics show me exactly how disingenuios many companies really are.
NI and Steinberg promised 64bit, and still are giving lip service to it's customers, but hey, you can now upgrade and forget about the bugs in Cubase 4, get 5.0 instead, oh and BTW, no checks, money orders only for the 200 USD..............
I have made my bed and will be happy to sleep in it.

Just uncloaking from casual lurker mode briefly to say 'hi' and 'congrats' here to the gang, lol.

I'm glad to see that the NAMM Show went off well and look forward eagerly, as I'm sure many others are, to the final release of Platform 5 for use with my current Scope 14 card.

The video for the XITE certainly looked very interesting, and it was a joy to see Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top demoing it there (j/k)...... ;)

I particularly liked Gary's 'The effects are also quite good'. That's going to really boost sales.

Hey Dudes, can we post the Xite video to youtube? that's the only way to embed it in some Music Forums topics around, which would be very useful, because there aren't any other videos about it.

You guys know that the Yeti is quite a beast. Some think it's real - it's even been seen a few times according to legend.

I would like to hear 'officially' from sonic core about anything! anything at all to let us breathe a little. Maybe this beast is for real - who really knows?

anyone else with me? :P

On page 3, no less, of this very topic, there is a reproduction of the official documentation presented alongside Xite-1 at Namn

hope this helps

I've been trying to post it on youtube for 3 days, and cannot get it 'accepted' yet.
I hope to have it up there by this weekend.

I'm considering adding some more captioning to help offset the ambient audio background noise - despite EQ'ing/limiting to enhance Gary's loud (thankfully) voice, it just didn't quite get everything across.

We'll see.

Greg

p.s. I regret not having time or ability to capture my brief introductory talk with 'the Gentlemen' early Friday morning amidst constant distractions and calls for coffee. It was a nice little 'interview'.
