if it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg, my next controller will be this one.
it's not a midi controller, but rather a 'tweakbox' using the OSC protocol. i know Max/MSP can convert OSC into midi, but i'd like to ask here if anyone has got experience in this matter. maybe some lighter/cheaper solution?
never say never, but it doesn't seem like there is a solution inside SFP. or is there? it would at least require a module which would let the OSC-protocol enter the DSP's, and a convertor.

ohhhhhhhh. this controller looks sooo insprirational (if you're into sci fi).

Is the LCD pressure or velocity sensitive? I would imagine not. I think that is very important.

it depends... poly pressure could be detected by an increased area a 'deeper' touch will produce.
In the more generalized 'channel aftertouch' it could be detected by a frame carrying the sensor area.
Velocity could be generated from surface mikes - or from the position where you hit the 'keys' (as a workaround).

the thing looks cute, but the all deciding question is left unanswered: HOW MUCH ?

cheers, Tom

http://cps.bonneville.nl/ is about 140€, and the shareware version has a limited size of patches.

I guess its about time to have further look at the osc protocol. Midi is outdatet. I still wonder why this osc and the mlan are still no standard?

These ones could be the future for any electronic music producer.

You could use this:

http://www.qprox.com/products/qslide_qt401.php

and the mios os found at http://www.ucapps.de/ and make yourself a nice controller.
I kmow it´s not going to be the same, but it could be fun.

By the way, look what these guys made with mios:

http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaB ... 1084140820

All DIY. cool

at0m|c: is it possible to know his name. I’ve been thinking in building one of these myself.

By the way, what I meant by saying that it wouldn’t be the same, it was referred to the LEMUR. I think the LCs found in the ucapps page to be way beyond cool. Of course, the LEMUR is a totally different concept.
