Hi all!

Just bought a new computer! DUAL 2,5Ghz Xeon with 2GB Samsung RAM on ASUS PC-DL Deluxe.

Now, my problem is the notorious DRIVER IRQL LESS THAN OR EQUAL in Scope.sys with blue screen and restart. I have installed the machine as a MPC Multiprocessor PC, but that hasn't solved my problem.

I'm running Scope4.0 on Pulsar II, XP SP2 and Sonar 4!

I have searched the forum for possible solutions, but so far nothing has seemed to do the trick for me.

Has anyone ever solved this issue, and why is Creamware not taking any actions on this problem?

I used to use win98 and never had any problems with my scope cards.

I recently upgraded to xp pro and initially I got this error about 5 times in the first month of using xp pro.

Touchwood I have not had this since....

I am half convinced that connections have something to do with it.

It seems strange coz I also fitted a new P650 graphics card and got a hint this may have something to do with it aswell.

I am puzzled as to why but I would suggest giving it a try - reinserting your (scope and graphics) cards.

I am pretty sure the IRQ blue screen thing has been discussed here already but can't remember what the outcome was.

that screen usually indicates a hardware problem. perhaps resetting any cards you have(including graphics) after cleaning contacts with 99% or purer alchohol will do the trick. a bad mobo, processor or memory will cause that problem as well. i am assuming that you have no irq conflicts(check under programs/accessories/system tools/system information).

Hooray, hooray!

I switched the Pulsar to another PCI slot, and so far it seems to be working! I even turned the PC back into ACPI mode! If this actually turns out to work in the long run, you two have just made me the happiest person on the planet! At least for now! :wink:

It didn't last !

I still have the same problem. SFP crashes spontaneously with IRQL error in Scope.sys! This is driving me nuts!

I have tried all my PCI slots and even reinstalled Windows (now in ACPI Multiprocessor mode again)!

Creamware doesn't say a word about this problem and their FAQ is completely worthless!

It seems that after the near bancruptcy they haven't updated any information on their site.

What can I do to fix my problem?

My Specs are:

Dual 2,5 Xeon (Hyperthreading disabled)
ASUS PC-DL Deluxe MB
2GB Ram
ATI Radeon 9700 Graphics
Pulsar II
Windows XP SP2

This is a driver problem.See all your drivers are up to date and not Microsoft ones

Okay.. Creamware gave me the "solution" which I do not intent to follow:
we are not suggesting to use our DSP boards with dual CPU systems.

Please go to the devicemanager and click on computer and deinstall the
ACPI multiprocessor driver and install the standrd driver.

I know that you have done this before, but this is a very serious point
concerning the stability of our DSP boards.
This is actually what I'll call an outrage, as they haven't stated anywhere on their website that MP systems aren't supported! :sad:

So, before spending $4000 on new equiptment, let this be a reminder to always check with Creamware first!

there is no problem with dual processors.
please follow the tips given above.

1. make sure that your DSP card is on its own IRQ.
2. make sure that your card is making good contact with the PCI slot.
3. make sure you update you drivers for the video card.

Oh one more thing.... try to stay cool, may solve this problem faster. You are in good hands here. you will be looked after somehow.

Thanks for cooling me down! Just got a little frustrated after reading the Creamware response! I have a deadline on music for a motion picture next week, and I'm under quite some pressure now from the director! I upgraded my machine to relieve myself from the many performance problems I had with my old one, and all I've got are more problems! :wink:

Here's my current IRQ-setup:

IRQ 13 Numeric data processor OK
IRQ 14 Primary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 15 Secondary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 16 128 DDR ATI Radeon 9700 TX w/TV-Out OK
IRQ 18 Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller OK
IRQ 19 Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller OK

The graphics card has the latest drivers, and I'm pretty sure that the DSP card has good contact with the PCI port, but I'll definately triple check it!

Any other things I should check while I'm at it?

things I would do

1. Disable HT and some of those USB
2. Disable the onboard Sound
3. Disable plug n play
4.REMOVE SP2 Keep SP1
5. Try to move the Creamware card to a lower IRQ (5/9/10 or 11)
6. reinstall the driver.
