Not everybody is a happy M2 user...
You all guys (especially subhuman) are talking about things that would empty our pockets. Yes, all the gear, cards, hardware controlers, Luna 4 and so on are great ideas but what about poor p1 owners? After a year of p1 possesion this card seems to be ancient nowadays (do you remember about the money you spent on it?). Perhaps I'm a kind of Don Kichote (sorry, I don't know if it's correct) and the progress of technology couldn't be stopped. Actually what progress - I want my card (I mean soft and hard parts) to work properly with all the features it has got already - every soft update brings some bug fixes but also new bugged-features and again and again. No, this is not any kind of attack, I don't mean things that don't work because of my not-optimized-setup - I'm just afraid of the future, I don't want to throw away my P1 spend next $$$ and buy a new, more powerful P4, P5... I hope they at CW think about compatibility. Uhhhh!!!! Sorry for all the bitter words. In fact I like all the ideas you suggest but I'm afraid of them.............

One thing I think sometimes people forget, is that Creamware hardware is MODULAR. This means that you can simply add a new board, and connect it via STDM to gain more DSPs, more I/Os, or in the case of some of my suggestions other benefits like onboard ram or something. You don't throw your old card away, you simply add more too it!
I'm an original Pulsar1 user who purchased a Luna2 for the ULLI and DSP expansion myself, so let me say that I understand your point of view quite a bit! (BTW, The value of our Pulsar1 cards would be a lot greater if it hadn't been for the Guitar Center blowout... even still many of those cards were NFRs which you cant really register anything to)
<i>

I agree and I hear you loud and clear - basic things like Undo & better (full) midi control of all parameters, etc would be ideal.

Again, I understand your viewpoint and tend to have feelings in that direction myself, but realize how much Creamware HAS thought of this with their modular hardware setup. I don't know of too many other examples of an audio company allowing you to add the new "whatever" to your old "whatever" and have them perform as one... Let's just say it's a rare thing Creamware has done and quite brilliant.

yea.
agreeing on this. praise creamware for these cards! thanks to them, otherwise i would have been spending so much more money on a paris- or protools-system.
DSP rules! and the concept of creamware, which allows all of their products to work together in a modular way, is (imho) unparalleled. look at digidesign, there you can see the opposite of this politic. really expensive to sell the 'old' protools 4 system, to get the new mixcube hardware, time and time again...
with pulsar it´s such sweet working, also with just win9x and cakewalk, and it will be certainly even more precious with w2k next year, when 3.0 is stabilized
sorry for this o.t. praising, but... (most of) you know what i´m talking about
(have just spent a whole night on making music again, and slept well and long after this
...)
always have fun,
Mo

Ummm... <a href=http://planetz.ghostwheel.com/forums/vi ... m=10&1>A16 Ultra</a>??

STS Dream List (STS5000 V3 or STS6000? hehe)
- Better stereo sample support, better (easier) stereo outputs.
- More polyphony (although you can now load MULTIPLE STS's in one project with V3...).
- Support for disk streaming.
- Sample Editor that supports DirectX plugins (nonrealtime is okay), or a way to push a button to pop up your External Sample Editor of choice with the sample loaded (and reloaded after changes are made -- automatically!)
- More than one assignable external CC on STS4000 (please please please)
- More filters (YES: we got this in STS4000 V3-- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU)
- Envelope Times (ADSR each) in the "Modulation Matrix"
- Support for auto-transfer from SoundForge and ReCycle programs like an external hardware sampler.

Why not some physical modeling synths?something like the vl range or a polyphonic fm or granular or additive.e.t.c.I always thought that with computer soft synth's we should be able to find more out of the normal synthesisers.
Although i love the sound of an analog synth
i am starting to get bored of that stuff and
while synths like ambient and motor are very special and with the sts5000 i feel that they are the most interesting synths of this platform they still are based to analog ,substractive synthesis.
Do you know if the scope dp software supports the various synth technics i mentioned above , because if not then we should perhaps stop dreaming for such stuff since the developers wouldn't have the power to create them.It is understandable that perhaps analog emulation is what the majority of the market wants at this stage ,however i don't feel that different synth wouldn't sell as well.
In the sts 6000 that subhuman want's i have to add a complete modulation matrix (enything gets connected to anything )and perhaps some modifiers like the ones in the waldorf synths would be nice also ,there is a certain colaboration between waldorf and cw why not something in this direction?

You guys realize of course some of my ideas I *know* would be tricky if not impossible...
GigaSampler's streaming is patented and they are the exclusive licensee:
http://www.nemesysmusic.com/support/faq.html#q14
I am not sure how Halion got around this, but as mentioned in a recent Sound-On-Sound article, they were unsure whether Halion was "legal" or not, as well. When I see people say "like GigaSampler, Halion, etc" I think "what else is there besides GigaSampler and Halion that streams? NOTHING
"
So I wouldn't hold my breath on streaming, but if Creamware could find a way, they would have perhaps the best software sampler ANYWHERE...
And don't expect to see any more Waldorf collaborations with Creamware. Stenzel is too busy coding on Q's etc. (Although I really like some of your ideas peripatitis, and I am sure something like this is possible, for an example see Jason M's basic Additive Synth here on PlanetZ).

I don't know if this one is discussed or available.
When I use a basic setting like 1 synth a micro mixer and midi source, every time I want to try a new synth I remove previous one select a new one make all the connections again.
Isn't it possible to have an other option besides remove and disconnect like (Replace with...)and have a menu with possible options
Or they can make pools like Mod2
You connect the midi and audio to this box and drag a synth in it.
Too much?Nonsense?
Thanks
Oz

i like the idea ozinga - we have been asking for that one for awhile - must be hard to do . . .
a new idea - how about an "about" page for modular patches - like shareware devices have (ie. ingo's guitar amp). then essential info about the structure of the mods is readily available, and proper credits can be given to the author. . .

It's a good idea OZ. We're looking by this for the functionnalities of others well known softs...in term of routing. Cause the main issue to me is the communication between pulsar and sequencers or audio editors. Tripledat is the audio part, well, the midi could come. The all in one for real...Anyway to give up my Logic, it has to be powerfull !! And stable...

Anyway I thought I would link the "<a href=http://planetz.ghostwheel.com/forums/vi ... 9&10>Ideas for Pulsar Modular</a>" thread here, great place to drop you Modular2 ideas, thanx AL.
