Hi. I have several problems with old projects in the new v3.0 software.

1. ALL (!) effect insert adjustements I made
are gone. In fact, every effect is loaded
with its default settings.

2. The same projects uses more DSP power in
the new software (about 10% more!).

3. How can you adjust number of voices from
the synths in v3.0?

4. Where is modular I?

Does anyone have the same problems or can you help me out? Thanks!! Greetz.

1. ALL (!) effect insert adjustements I made

I have no solution for this except to use Pulsar 2.04a for 2.04a projects... the entire way presets are handled was changed, and there will be a few annoyances along the way when trying to use old projects. The other alternative is to rebuild the projects using V3 devices under V3.

2. The same projects uses more DSP power in
the new software (about 10% more!).

A few things seem to use LESS dsp than before. Most notably, the STS samplers use MORE dsp, because they (all? haven't checked STS3000) have new features, for example the STS4000 now has a whole list of filters probably taken from the STS5000. Because of this projects with STS's do use more DSP now.

3. How can you adjust number of voices from

Same place as before -- the device list across the top.

4. Where is modular I?
Wasn't included in V2 either... but you can get it at the bottom of our page:

Hope that helps.

Well, hi Subhuman.

STS3000 take more DSP also, 3 new filters inside. And what is funny (or not...) is that even when filters are set to BYPASS, they use the DSPs resources as well.

I think this is a bug, as Ingo mentioned this morning on Pulsar-SCOPE, so I guess they know and are planning/working on a fix.

The problem seems even worse. When I create a project in v3.0, it doesn't save any insert adjustments either! So when I, for example, insert a delay in the big mixer channel and adjust the time this setting isn't saved. What's going on?

Thanks for the tips so far!

I have found a solution to the problem of saving insert settings. If you save BigMixer (I assume it works for other mixers too) as a preset then reload the preset when you reopen the project then the insert settings are recalled. It takes a while - when you first double-click on the preset to load it - nothing much seems to happen and the mouse pointer goes back to normal, but then after a few seconds it springs to life and the settings are back. You can access the preset window for BigMixer from the device bar or bhy right-clicking on the mixer. Hope it works for you.

And of course not using the BigMixer at all is a great solution too IMHO

Hey u all.
if you have old projects that you are
almost ready with, make them finished
in the 2.04.
let the V3 rock with new projects !!

the bigmixer is a big BUG
but the new PulsarPRO mixer is Wioaaaaah

I dont use the blue bigmixer no more.
ONLY in older projects when I must start V 2.04

thanks for the warning.rebuilding old projects is fruitful and sometimes new learning brings better solutions, but it's better to do these things on purpose than by accident.....or at least more pleasant if not better...........of course the old settings should still be backed up and accessable in v2.........
