i was curious on how i would go about automating controls in sfp... when playing the midi through cubase? what i want to do is be using a midi chl in cubase... sending it through to sfp into a seq. midi source then into ez synth fr example. i assign the tune to a knob on my midi controller, and volume to the pitch wheel on my midi controller... so that i can raise and lower the volume while detuning the signal... so, i recorded it all in a midi channel in cubase... and it shows that it recorded the various turning of the knobs and everything... but it doesn't play it back when looped? it will play it the first time through... but after that it's silent?

is there any way to record automation of the sfp instruments? am i going about it the right way?

you've done it right(you see action on playback)

connect the midi out of the device that you want to automate to the seq midi in and record the movements of the device's controllers to a midi track. playback is the opposite. you can also record the output of an external controller directly to a midi channel.....

to assign a controller # to a control on a device, right click on that knob. see the manual for details.....

the reason it's not working in a loop is strange, it must be a loop setting in cubase....
