g'day everyone..
i'm using SX and scope project for my
work...
my question is...
if i want to record the main mix coming
out of pulsar mixer to wavelab...
how do i make the settings in scope
project?
what i did was..
i took out the 24bit wave dest and
plugged it in the main mix out of
the pulsar mixer.....
do i have to do anything else?
in the routing window?
because i tried to record the final
mix with the above setting..
but hell... it only brought in
major digital noises and stuff...
and in wavelab... i tried to
change some setting in the audio preference
window... but i don't know what to change..
i only managed to get the bit rate and
sample rate the same... but i just
couldn't get it to sync together properly..
can some one show me the proper way
to get audio into wavelab from pulsar mixer?
cheers...
scope, cubase and wavelab question
I second Valis' suggestion. Cubase is a resource intense app - it would have to share with Wavelab.
There is NO technical (or acoustic) advantage to record in Wavelab.
The additional ASIO pair may look strange at first glance, because it records where it's sources come from...
but it's just like that - simple and straight forward.
cheers, Tom

Recording in Wavelab IS cool and doesn't use much dsp.....
my set-up
Wavelab preferences/Audiocard: set playback & rec to MME-WDM Creamware Play/Rec1;
Buffer nos: Play-13; Rec-6
Buffer size 16384 for both.
Computer- Ctrl Panel/System/hardware/Device Manager....go to your Creamware card (Sound, video & game cntrlrs): properties/settings/wave setup - No of devices & channels set to 2; Output preload - set to about 90%
Done
Tell me I've got an over-active imagination if you like, but I think it does sound better than SX on full mixes

I have had this exact same problem trying to record in Wavelab using the 24bit Wave Dest in SFP!
I have not found a definative solution for it except fiddle about a bit until the digital noise disappears.
Fiddling includes changing sample rate in SFP and then changing back again, closing and opening Wavelab again, with the recording dialog open change between 16 bit and 24 bit, etc., etc.,
It's a bit annoying but doesn't last long before it fixes itself.
Notably, this does not appear to happen with the 16 bit destination.
Alternatively, like it has been mentioned record back to cubase through an ASIO dest.
