Hi friends

In a topic some time ago was a discussion about the quality of VDAT.
now there is the new cutmaster.

Does anybody use this ?
What about the audio-quality of that application ?
How does it work together with a SFP environment ?

ok just phoned with creamware

Cutmuster and sfp do not run at the same time. The SFP plugins do not run under cutmaster

Like many of you , I would like to record and edit audio in SFP.
So this is not what i had dreamed of....

But , there is a new tripledat to come !!!!
That is what i was told.

Cutmaster is a complete environment. You should be able to copy creamware plugins into the Scope and use them in the routing window of the cutmaster. take a look at the plugins available with the cutmaster version on the cwa site. the way I understand it that you can load cutmaster in the background (of course you close Scope 4.0) and in the cutmaster environment you can can route like you do in SFP the mixers/synth effects etc........

as for VDAT vs. Cutmaster.
Vdat no editing

Cutmaster 32 bit is 24 track recorder/editor (physical and virtual) and able to do CD writing (provided you install Nero first)

Cutmaster isn't a generic recording app for everyone. It's a special product aimed at the broadcast industry. Don't get so excited about that product (unless you work in radio or TV).

TripleDAT is their general purpose recording app. That's the one you should be watching for. They've been hinting at an upgrade for years. Frankly, it's a boring topic already. I gave up waiting a year ago (moved to Sonar) and never looked back. The only reason I stuck with 3DAT that long was the original cost of acquisition (almost $2K). I was going to get my money's worth out of it by god. It was like a breath of fresh air when I finally walked away from it and moved to Sonar. Sonar is everything 3DAT should have been 5 years ago.

Sonar 4 due out the end of this month. Forget 3DAT. Look at Sonar. It rocks!

the new version of cutmaster that will replace tdat sounds pretty cool. now that the flood in the basement is over, it should be out very soon(32bit, 24 track audio editor w/24 or 48 virtual tracks...)...

As an old tripledat/cutmaster user
during the ISA days and my very expensive P130 Mhz, 32 meg of ram

The only differnece between tripledat and cutmaster is the database used for storage, wich is part of the cutmaster for multiusers.

otherwise the cutmasster behaves the same way tripledat does.
the software difference between cutmaster and tripledat in the old days were simply 2 Extra keycode for cutmaster.

So I beleive even cutmaster XP can be used for general recording.

Really?! That's good news though like Krizrox said, this is nothing new... Although have migrated to LAP5 & SX2, I'm still hopefull that CW will release a new version of our beloved tripleDAT in the near future. I am still holding my breathe and still hopefull that it will someday come.

Cheers!
