This is almost the final mix, but I'm not sure if everything is ok, especially the vocals and the amount of bass in it.

I hope you have some good advises, as always!!!!!!

Well first of all, wow. You know that I am a fan of your tracks but beside this, this track is one of your best from my view.
I really like the details how you sang in this track while the music underlines your tones. For example the Bionics verb is metalized and the "maybe our chance is gone" , great work.

Into the details.

Musically this track is perfect I think, all instruments seems to be nicely balanced.

In the beginning much is happen the rhythm the nice perc sound but then your voice sets in, I feel a bit overcharged by all things that happen. I would like to hear a slower intro. It is hard for me to concentrate on your voice at the beginning.

Same in the extro, you say something but I can´t understand it.
Once I got into your song I understand everything but I guess this is not planed that somebody must hear a track three times to understand it. Hopefully he hears it three times

I don´t know how you produce your tracks, Cubase? only SFP effects? When you have the chance to use vst effects then give a try on the Waves Renaissance Vox this could be a great comp for your voice.

Anyway, beside the quick start of your song and the ending where I can´t understand you, this song is a fantastic work.

Great that you are on this planet.

Well thanx for your compliments! I'll surely try the compressor! That's the main thing I was unsure about; if you could understand the vocals. I know exactly what is sung, of course, but others don't (btw: in the end I say 'Have we evolved at all'), and I don't want to make the vocals louder. Besides Scope, I use Cubase SX indeed, and I'm using more and more VST plugins instead of scope-instruments, as they have become really great. The arpeggiosound for example is from the V-station plugin, and most of the drums from the Waldorf Attack. The Vocoder is just the standard vocoder that comes with SX. But the limiters, compressors, delay and so on (and the mixing) are done with scope. After the mix, I used Steinberg Wavelab to give it a little more punch. Well, thanx again, and you can donwload the final mix soon from my site! (www.alanlauris.com) CU. Alan.

Wow!

Alan Lauris has evolved  Seriously, this is a great toon and I say you have evolved because when I 1st started coming to planet Z you were doing more folk like tunes and now we have a full on electro dance mix going here, simply fantastic!

This song so reminds me of the early petshop shop boys depeche mode style with a flavor of kraftwerk in there. Great stuff everything sounds balanced and original. I enjoyed this much.

Cheers!

oh my goodness yes, pet shop boys, it's the chord progression and the vocal treatment, I think.

and depeche mode, and kraftwerk a bit, yes.

so what, I like it! it's very well executed.

but then I'm old and like to hear things that remind me of my twenties! those were the days...in my first band, drinking everything, smoking everything, "doing" everything...ahhhh, memories!

LOL
