I understand what you mean. But in case of theme album, there needs to be certain things to be said, like in this song. I think the slow tempo serves well the lyrics, a flash of the moment, that feels sort of 'eternity'.
But what ever you are doing, there is always room for imporovement of course. It's good to know what others are thinking.

This is really good Stige! The only thing I would have another look at is the vocal track. There is a lot of dynamic there such that, at the start, the vocal jumps out a bit too much and sounds like it was recorded after the mix instead of as a part of it. It's great in the chorus though. Really belts out well!
