I think the CW politics should concentrate more on that customers. If SFP would really be a studio standart smaller studios / home users might think: "well if I´d buy pulsar / luna I would have a good soundcard with lot´s of free... AND BE COMPATIBLE with the big ones. So I´ll spend those few bucks more". Not that those customers needed that a 100% sure - but thats a real USP (and not the sheer mass of free plugs).
Quality alone seems to be not the final argument and as we can see least budget or free stuff leads to difficult situations if you try to develop HQ plugs ( or have them developed
)I would really like to use these verbs. BUT: I am not sure if I can have a project based on these verbs that I want to work with. I would never fumble around with some 2 or 3 PCs connected. So 100 bucks might be too much for just a (veeeery nice) toy. I´ve still not made up my mind. These verbs DO SOUND SUPERB!
If SFP would be more widespread in the pro field there would be more people beeing willing to pay the 100,- for a top of the notch plug which then could be developed further as to make it possible to use it in a pro surrounding. And therefore I think that this thought of "the secret SFP weapon" or thelike might not be leading in a direction where we wanted to be with SFP in a few years.
I agree with those posts that suggest a major review in a magazine.
