We had previously recorded and finished a version of this song, but I was never really happy with it. So one day I started from scratch and re-did the whole thing.

This song was number one on the "Broadjam" "new wave" top ten for weeks!

Recorded with Sonar and Pulsar. The sad part is that I lost the keybaord patch soon after this recording when the battery died in my Korg M3R...technology.

i really like the organy/pady sound along with the guitar that comes in at the 5th bar. i'd like to make a d'n'b track with those 8 bars that follow..

pleasant track. their seems to be a couple of very minimal timing issues though, i think it could be with the edit of the drum loop(if that is a drum loop used)

I'm interested to know where you hear the timing issues, perhaps I could repair them.

Yes it is a drum loop, and sometimes Sonar screws up when you paste multiples, so there could be an issue.

I give you permission to remix anything I post, just so long as you credit me as the source, and of course you have to post it!

I would like to see more of this going on, where people take an idea and run with it. We're all supposed to be creative here!

I like this track, has a chiled out feeling, its actually pretty relaxing too just lay back and listen to, I like the choice of sounds, and the spacial guitar sounds all whammy like that sounds real smooth.

I especially like the little distorted little swirly noises going on.

I also here issues with the drum loop, why not just throw the loop into something like wavelab and chop the sounds as one shots and then reprogram the loop, it would have a much tighter feel as one shots run through a sampler.

I keep hearing the end loop stutter before it re-triggers, aside from that I enjoyed it much!

Upon examaining the song tracks I have discovered that the drum loop was done in ACID, and I brought it over as a five minute wave sample, so I don't think it is an editing issue.

I understand what you mean when you talk about the sort of a stutter feeling. I could try replacing the drum track wholesale, it's very easy to try another one, I'll experiment with some different feels.

I overdubbed a bongo track and I ran it through a delay. Occasionally I think i mishit a beat and then it echoes on against the beat, need to do some tidying up and I think I can fix some of that.

Nice tune. As far as I can judge things with my computer loudspeakers the vocal part seems a bit too loud and the distortion of of the guitar part is not of my liking. Sounds a bit digital/clipped than warmly overdriven.

Rogurt, for years people kept telling me not to bury the vocals, you are the first one in a long time to tell me to turn them down! LOL. BTW thanks for pointing out that this is what you hear on "your" monitors, as that is very important to keep in mind.

As to the guitar distortion, well, I'll put that down to personal taste...it does what I want it to.

It would indeed be cool if we all had internet connections that were fast enough to transfer complete multi-track files quickly so that we could easily mix each others stuff. Man would that be fun! I'd love to hear how you would change my song.

It pays to post!

I went in and took a hard look at the Sonar file and sure enough I found some definite weirdnes in a few spots on the drum track.

Not only have I repaired them, but I really got into the song again and I have improved it quite a bit! I will post as soon as I have finished the re-mix.
