Was messing around for a bit tonight and started this small 2min tune, its like taking a journy into an alternate plane of percussion, it moves and is alot of fun to listen too,I strongly recommend putting on a good pair of headphones cranking the volume WAY up and just close yours eyes and slip into the journey!

Forgot to add, used STM2448 Mixers and Optimaster to pump up the volume..

Greetings all,

This short piece is a work in progress, it was created entirely with 2 librarys and a mixture of three devices, mixed entirely on an STM2448 and limited and comped with the Optimaster for hot gains.

The 2 librarys were a mixture of the East West Qualtum lead Symphonic Orchestra and also Storm Drum.

I just recieved both of these devices a few days ago this is the start of the 1st thing I have created, I want to continue adding more orchestration but it was late at night and I just was having fun so I decided to post what I had so far, as I continue to add to the track I will post and update as I go.

It has a very movie sound track like feeling, while creating all I could think of was like a planet of the apes vibe where there is a war between man and animal.

Glad you enjoyed it so far, I am actually going back to work on it as we speak so I will probably update this evening.

- No STS was used, there were 2 devices used in the programming, NI's Kompakt & Intakt, as far as the sounds them selves, these are real drum sounds, not recorded by myself obvoiusly, but from a library called Storm Drum from EWQL, which I might add has some HUGE percussion beds and massive amounts of samples, roughly 6 Gigs worth.

- Played from keyboard, utilizing both the Kompakt and Intakt engines, there is a mix going on here, there are loops from the intakt engine running, there is many one shots from the Kompakt engine running ontop of the percussion beds, and then there is also orchestral percussion sounds running from the EWQLSO aswell as the initial trombone, trem strings and the choir, although the choir bits are a small portion of a library called Voices of the Apocalypse, with the symphonic orchestra you get a small but finctional variety of choir parts to use in your pieces, I only wish I had the full VOTA library.

But I do not want to take too much credit, most of the credit in this small piece is deserved to the producer of storm drum "nick pheonix" as the piece consists of loops & one shots and then small bits of orchestral parts mixed in.

Its basically a track of layers consisting of looped variations and one shots layered on top from storm drum and symphonic orchestra, lots of big drum sounds and timps and such.

I thank you again for the kind words, but all I was mearly doing was elevating the original percussion beds from storm drum.

In the end though its all about having fun and making music!

Liked that a lot! I felt that it could have 'bigged up' a bit more towards the end...perhaps a different drum sound hitting some hard 16ths to give it a finale

edit: having said that, I've just read the thread properly and it's a work in progress...

I always find it difficult to put things on top when the sound is really big. Perhaps this is an intro or should be broken down in parts where you want to add more melodic lines.

Striking sound both trough my studio monitors as well as my AKG K-501 headphones.

Seems to me this piese as it is could be used for a computergame like Desert Combat or something like that. But if U put a really hot live bass on. It would rip on the dancefloor.
