This summer I'm going to spend my holidays in Sweden. I hear rumors about how expensive is the life here, but I think they are exaggerations...

Someone could tell me how many SEKs basic essentials such foodstuff meanly costs?

Or can you tell me a web-site of a supermarcket, commercial center or something similar?

Thank you very much for the help.

Hi Lima.

Sweden is expensive, but not as expensive as Norway. For example, a beer on a pub in Sweden costs roughly 45 SEK.
I dont have any good numbers in my head for a Sweden/Italy comparison since I only pay with credit card and never pay attention to what it costs. But tomorrow I´ll bring a receipt after I´ve been shopping and I´ll tell you what things cost.

Happy Holidays!

Here are some price examples:

Milk, 1 liter: 7:90 SEK

Potatoes, 0,7 kg: 5:50 SEK

Apples, 0,5 kg: 9:25 SEK

Bananas, 0,5 kg: 7:00 SEK

Tomatoes, 0,4 kg: 7:96 SEK

Swedish meatballs 0,3 kg (of the more expensive kind): 23:90 SEK

Low fat butter 0,4 kg: 15:00 SEK

Pasta, 1 kg: 14:00 SEK

Hope this gives you an idea of swedish prices.

Thank you very very much!

This helps me a lot! Luckily I see that's not too expensive! My thought was at least twice!

Not to be annoying, but I've another question: I'll come to Stockholm and is my intention to make a stockholm card. I saw that it gives me a lot of possibilities and everyone seems to be very interesting (museums, palaces and more), but how can a uman visit everything in three days?
Can you suggest me the most interesting places to visit (in your opinion) ?

Thank you a lot!

Well if you havent already found it, I´ll start by pointing you to the officiall tourism page of Stockholm. http://www.stockholmtown.com/templates/ ... _2023.aspx

In the upper right corner you can choose your start language, and I found you can get the page in italian too.
I noticed there were tons of museums in Stockholm, even more than I knew about myself, hehe.

Its a bit hard for me to say which would be most interesting, but I´ll try to list the most obvious ones.

The Royal Castle. (of course)

The Museum of Natural history (Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet)

The Vasa Museum (where they have the old sunken royal battleship from the 16 hundreds)

Birka. This is an old excavated viking settlement outside of Stockholm. It might be more difficult to get there since its outside of the subway net but will definately be one of the most worthwhile sights. There is an organised tourist boatride that takes you out there. Its a funny place. I know from a friend whos wife works there as an archaeologist that some of the swedes working there are actually followers of Asatro, the old viking religion. Pretty cool

Hope this helps.

Thank's a lot Nisse! Your help has been precious for me. I've already found stockholm page, but the great number of places reviewed makes me confused on wich one is "much important" than others.

Now my ideas are a bit clean

Thank you very much, bye!
