It used to work...now it dont.
when logic loads it comes up with usual "no midi in/out 2" messages as luna only has one midi in/out.

in logic creamware midi in/out 1 and 2 seem available.
logic sends midi...none goes in or out of luna.

remember reading something about changing .cset or .ini file to fix this ????

can anyone help????
Had to cancel a session...it was embarassing.

Check the audio sync setting in samplerate setting window. If your Luna is synced to an external device and the device is off (or its cable is unplugged) then you get such behaviour of midi. Set your Luna to internal sync and observe the results

In the Scope 4.0 LiveBar you have some dropdown menus. In one menu (don't remember exactly) there is the 'samplerate' option. Just choose it and you'll see a window with all available digital ins/outs and an indicator indicating the samplerate. Choose master.

hi,
check out win.ini for logic midi-ports.
if they are set to 7 or 0, set them to 1.

best,
andre

thanks for help samplair/andre ill try in a day or 2. [dual boot puter...using "other" os]

AndreD... the win.ini sounds like the solution I used when this happened a while back. Where do I find it?... is it in C:/windows?

I searched the suport DB for this and couldnt find it...Or any mention of the "I/O Enabler" ...it looks like it has settings for logic I should have been using...it didnt fix the midi problem tho.

So I tried the win.ini thing and the sampletrate menu sync thing in SFP live bar and still no joy.

the live bar sync was already set correctly and the logic midi in ports were correct in the win ini.
The midi out port 1 seems to keep going back to 7 tho of its own acord.
But it's midi IN i need.

Any more suggestions?

something in your computer is corrupted.reinstall logic and scope right over the top of rhe old installs(after backing up important files,of course) and maybe the corrupted file will be overwritten. if all else fails start over after a hd format. it'll work as long as the card's midi ports work.(you DO have midi inside the scope environment when a controller plugs into the luna, don't you?)

uh huh....I just reinstalled complete new os...that was my first try....

MIDI IN is the problem...plug a midi controller into luna and it dont werk.

Midi incoming notes do not show up in logics transport bar.

Midi out DOES show up in logics transport bar but does not seem to leave the luna card.

logic seems to have midi...luna ports seem to be the problem STILL.

How do i check for midi in scope environment?????????????
...im using scope in xtc mode [still]

Help appreciated

go into sfp mode and use the midi monitor. that way you can rule out a hardware problem.

mid cable

Post by Merkury »

Ha ha man it was fun reading this ,it happened to me too whit Luna2 ...i asked questions for days on a forum, checked everything,re installed everything.....and then one day i casually disconnect midi cables and reconnect 'em and everything works fine....i feltt like a complete idiot . :D

btw i still have the same cable to this day hehe,i think that we underestimate the power of MIDI CABLES :)
