Please give me some feedback!
In fact I worked 12h in total on it only, not much but I had a busy weekend.
Sorry for the remote url but I´am not allowed to post the track to another side.
Damn, I am excited.
Here you can hear the other peers:

I enjoyed this very much, but then it'd be good to know what the original sounded like for comparison.
I thought the voice was a bit too flange-heavy at the start, although I liked the vocoder effect a little later. Also I thought the high little tick sound sounded like a digital error at the start (because of its semi-random feel) before it later settled into its pattern.
Tiny criticisms though of a very impressive sounding piece.

Thank you very much Ken. That is absolutely what I want to reach with this remix. On 2004-06-16 09:53, kensuguro wrote:
great evolving sounds as usual. I couldn't make out much of what the deep voice is saying.. Very mature sounding electro style. It's electro, but feels very silky and clean. And a bit cool in temperature. Or, maybe like antarctica cold.
The singer talks about the hate that comes out of the city that froze his soul.
The streets are iced of that hate and his face is reflecting on those streets.
So, I want to carve out the cold and frozen emotion with this remix.
To be honest, I haven´t add any synth lines to this track. The only think I did, was a re-arrange of the samples, the whole rhythm section was done by me and the mastering of course.
I am a bit proud of the freeeeze(Kontakt Time Machine) thing in the vocals and for my first time I experiment with the morph plug from prosonic. For example:
We had 72 samples and many of them were the vocals, dry, vocoded, reverbt etc.
In the beginning I morph the dry vocal line with the vocoded one, but it developt in a mix between those two samples.
The second vocal line is a morph of a sequence and a dry vocal line.
My main aim was to work out the frozen emotion in this track, if you listen closer, every time when he talks about a frozen thing, I froze the vocals and the drum line with a hold function ,too.
Anyway, I am sure that I won´t win this contest or I´ll be in the upper class of this contest, the other producers have done a very great stuff and have done a remarkable work.
Thanks for your replies.

For example, this is a producer that won several contest in the last years.
He is a bit like Thalamus for me.
The same contest but his version of a remix.

Such a huge sound - like this a lot.
I know I do the comparison stuff a lot - but it reminded me of FLUKE doing YELLO.
That granular freeze effect that you put in there on one of the vocal lines was great to hear.
If you haven't heard FLUKE, I recommend a listen because I think you'd enjoy them. Best CD , IMO, is OTO

The FX on the voice are too strong, too wet, but I do like the way your fading from a robotic voice to a harmonic, vocoded voice that fits the music. It's like the chords/singing come out of no-where....
The drums are very "The Orb". Also nice how you crossfade, I think, the "squeezing muscle" into a reversed crash, such as to get an effect Squeezing MussssSsSSSSSST! The song could do with some more structure though, it feels more like an intro than a whole piece.
