Okay, I've done my homework: I've tried to read all the faq's and post on severel different forums but I just can figure out the routing for my setup
I've got the pulsar card and want to use the 16 ADAT channels in Cubase SX 2.2. Just the ADAT channels, and maybe a few DSP effects.
I've connected ASIO2-FLT source 64 (16 adat channels) to the mixer's 1 to 16 and from the mixer's 1-16 output, I've connected them to ASIO2 dest 64. I've connected midi seqencer source and dest and of course the pulsar analog for monitoring.
In my cubase I can see 16 inputs... GREAT! but the first to inputs are the analog inputs. I want the digital ADAT input istead of the analog in channels 1 and 2. How do I change that?
And why does this appear?"XTC plugins are not available while another Creamware app is running"?? I've enabled the XTC mode, but I can't use the DSP effects as inserts in Cubase?
A question about routing with Cubase SX 2
Use ADAT source mod , not ASIO source if you want to hear it....connect it to your mixer in Scope.
ASIO source is where Cubases's outputs appear in Scope.
Also you don't need multiple ASIO DEST channels unless you intend to record many tracks at once.
Reading my post here might help:

If you want XTC mode you musn't start the Scope platform.....enable it in Scope settings then close Scope, open Cubase.
As for the inputs, I'm not sure I completely understand, but try resetting them in Devices (in Cubase)....
whatever name they have may be irrelevant tho'...whatever you send to ASIO DEST in Scope is what you'll get in Cubase.

This is just a hunch but...On 2004-06-11 06:01, kas_lar wrote:
Okay, I'm at the same stage as before...
I've got the inputs in Cubase... But inputs 1 and 2 are still analog inputs. input 3-16 are ADAT 3-16.
What about the other questions I've asked. Can you help me with them?
Is this what you're getting?
Code: Select all
____________
Cubase mix L --> | |
Cubase mix R --> | |
ADAT 3 --------> | SFP Mixer |
ADAT 4 --------> | |
...
ADAT 16 -------> |____________|
You can also use effects inserts in SFP, no need for XTC. XTC is for people who like the Cubase interface better than the SFP one. (I am *not* one of those people...

In your SFP mixer, open up your mixer. You can right-click on the "Insert" boxes to place effects there. For example, I usually put a MultiFX (Effects -> Other -> MultiFX) as an insert for each channel. Then fill up the MultiFX with dynamics (compressors, EQs, and so on).
Anyway hope this helps. Cheers and ciao for now,
