Hi folks!
can someone explain how to use Cubase as comtroler for STM mixer?
can someone give some tips in general about midi, where does one go that is new to the use of midi? usefull links maybe?
And maybe if somebody is really kind they can make me a projekt.pro and a def.all file that I can use..?
thanks.
regards
mid control STM
Are you familiar with the standard way of assigning midi cc's in Scope.....right click a knob, send a controller or type in the one you want then press the big + ? (make sure you've plugged the midi in to your seq source)
That's all there is to it.
I normally put the STM on channel 15.
There are certain faders that don't accept automation...I think the bus sends maybe (can't remember of the top of my head) but you can certainly automate all the main controls.
In Cubase you can then have a midi track dedicated to automating the STM (or more than one if you want.....say one for all vol, one for FX sends - whatever) and use the Cubase automation on the main page, or whatever other method you want.

You don't need to be in record - you can draw them in....just press the little '+' in the Cubase track so you can see the automation lane & press the 'R' so that it reads the data, then just put in your data by clicking anywhere on the line.
Cubase will automatically interpolate slopes between 2 points, or you can step data by having 2 points of differing value at the same time position (useful for switches/sudden changes).
Switching the green 'R' off disables automation again, or you can delete/move any data easily....points will snap to position if you want (or not!)
Have as many lanes as you want, and assign them to whatever cc you want too.
OR if you have a hardware fader, or want to automate any faders/switches/knobs inside Cubase, just press the 'W', and tweak away while playing the song....Cubase will automatically display any new data you change on the corresponding lane.....Works for plugins/VST instrumnts too
