HI, i am having problem creating tryin to pitch shift a drum sample in the sts3000.

Here is what I want to do. I want to take a drum sample, and be able to slightly increase the pitch using velocity. So when the velocity is 90 it plays at one pitch and when the velocity is 105 it will play at another.

Now here is what am I doing.
1) I put the sample in the zone
2) I put the same sample in the zone beneath it.
3)I adjust the "v-high" in the "main"
section.
4) I change the pitch in the "add section"

Thats it. Shouldnt the velocity i program therefore be altering between the pitch shifted samples. For some reason it does not seem to be working. What am i doing wrong?
thanks is advance.

I think only STS5000 is doing pitch shifting

Heck, even the samplerPlayer has pitch shifting, that's what a sampler does for a living!!!

But you might be thinking about STS5000's formant-pitchshifting....

Exactly. let me put it like this... here is what i want to do. I want certain notes in a program, to be able to change pitch in response to velocity.

I dont need every note in the program to be pitch modulated according to velocity... just certain ones.

How would I adjust the settings in the zone area, because it doesnt seem to be working the way i am doing it.

Sorry but I know only one solution...

If you use Logic, then you can easily "transform" anything to anything anywhere...

It can be done in the "global" page. There is a pitch shift option there. Mine defaults to env 2 so change that one to velocity. However you'd have to make 2 Programs as the effect is global. 1 for the stuff that changes pitch and 1 for the stuff that don't. You can still have them on the same midi channel so you can play both at the same time.
