Hi
I'm sorry if this question is really basic, but it's bugging me badly..

How can I create a setup, where I can route some of the MIDI channels to Pulsar synths, and the others to a real synth connected to Pulsars MIDI in/out ? Like maybe the first 8 channels go to pulsar, and the next 8 to my synth..

I seem to be able only to either get one or the other, or both at the same time (I can use this setup and mute the relevant channels on the synth, but surely it isn't meant to be the right way - or is it ?

Hoping for help
Andreas

I'm not too good at midi but I think you can solve your problem the way you want. midi is sometimes too flexible (like in your case - you can do it in several ways) and causes confusions in routing signals; sometimes it (midi) is too simple to make very complex connections. So my answer to your question is: do it the way you will be able to remember to restore in the future (and even more - write it all down, there are free notepads available for pulsar/luna users)

n3s,
Welcome you to Pulsar club.
Sorry, I still don't get your questions about the MIDI, just confused me! The pulsar is new to you, you don't know how to setup the MIDI interface or you just want some sorta easy way?
Of course if don't know how, just describe your setup (Seq, soundcards, Ext MIDI-Int, Etc) and what do have learned, maybe we are able to help. Otherwise, to share with us what is in your mind? We might learn from you!

Regards,
LHong

hi,
you have your midi messages coming from the seq.midi outputs that are shown as "seq. midi source" modules.
every one of them can carry 16 channels.
let's say you have just one loaded, so you have 16 midi ch.s at your disposal.
well, you just have to connect it to all the devices in pulsar and also to the "pulsar midi out" module for outboard gear.
then you just select the proper midi channel(rx) on your synths and they will respond only to the midi related tracks.
if you drag two seq.sources (if your sequencer can have two midi outs) you can have 16 channels connected to pulsar synths
and 16 to the phisical midi out.
i hope it helps.
ciao, alfonso

Thanks a bunch !!

Alfonso got me on the right track: Making two sequencer Out in Pulsar, and then set up the channels from Cubase.

Guess I could/ should have known ?
But I'm still just getting to grips with all the possibilities that this card offers. (yes, it is new - my first proper music setup (including a triton) - thanks for the warm welcome)
I'm impressed so far..

samplaire> I liked your suggestion a lot. If I thought like that more often, I might actually get something done
)

Cheers
