Am thinking about buying a used Pulsar II from a friend of mine. I already own a Pulsar I but no extra plugins, synths etc.
Just wondering how a transfer of his license to me would work. Checked the forum and found out that people has to pay to transer licenses for plugins. Is it the same for hardware?
Or could I just get his user data on log in as him? Not sure how this vill affect my system once both cards are installed?
/Fred
Buying a use Pulsar II, but what about the license?
it won't be any trouble at all, but as the new Pulsar Two has a better IO system than your original, it would be better to re-install from scratch to assure the new card becomes the 'master'.
Save all your presets and projects and uninstall the old system. Remove the Pulsar One.
Once you have the new card, log in as your friend, change the account data to your personal values and download his allkeys file.
Then install the new SFP for the Pulsar Two and import the allkeys file when asked.
Check if the system is up and running and just plug in your original card.
SFP will find it automatically and add it's DSPs. Add your saved stuff (if any) to the appropriate folders.
The discussion about license transfer is about a completely different thing and only relevant if someone wants to sell one (or more) items and keep the board (or sell it separately).
cheers, Tom
