Have been using an A8 (old version) for quite a while. Just got me an used A16 (old version as well) to compliment my studio and give me a total of 24ch in/out.

Am using a Pulsar I and of course both fibre connections are now occupied with the A16. So it's time to get both devices to work together.

What will be the best and cheapest way for me to do this? Do I have to buy another Pulsar card or could I get around this. I really don't have the money for a new purchase right now.

Replying to my own post...

Another question is how it will look in the SFP interface if I choose to buy another Pulsar card? Can't recall if there is one ADAT1 and one ADAT2?

Though it feels a little bit over the top to buy a whole Pulsar card just to get an extra ADAT in/out.

A Luna or PowerSampler would do, they have ADAT ports. You need extra ADAT ports if you want to connect the A8. STDM cable to another CW card is the easiest way. If just for the IO, get the smallest card... Check out CW's site for their current IO options - I don't think they mention the 3adat board any more though.
Have a look at the Z-Link board too, it has a single ADAT IO and 2 Z-Link.

i recently added another card - now in hardware i/o menu i choose from scope or pulsar, then whatever hardware is there (in scope there are adat a & adat b)

would the a8 be compatible with another simpler, cheaper adat i/o card?

...or try finding a used pulsar 1 on ebay - extra dsp never hurt

Yep, I guess a new Pulsar card would be quite nice  Though I would like to have a cheaper alternative but I guess there's none.

Ok, so you get one ADAT A and one B then. That's nice! And I could finally get rid of the hardware sub mixer...
