Can anyone comment on the sound of the Celmo guitar and bass amplifiers compared to UAD's Nigel (and Preflex)?
Also, how do the demos that Celmo typically puts out differ from their real product? Is there a time-limit, white noises and pings every other second, reduced functionality ?
Celmo Bass Amp Modeller
I have a few of his devices including the GAM and was very impressed with everything he does. The GAM is worth the money but I'm afraid I have no experience with the other products you mentioned so I can't say. I do have a Line 6 Pod Pro though. The GAM isn't as full-featured as the Pod but still has some very nice sounds to it. I don't think it was that expensive was it? Try the demo and then decide for yourself. I think there was a Blues GAM available for free wasn't there? Try that too.
the GAM is like a nice amp. you'll need to add effects. the BAM is like an EXTREMELY nice bass amp. ditto for adding effects.
well, if you only want chorus, bluesy distortion, vibrato or delay celmo's devices have some very good examples of those effects....for extreme stuff though, there are plenty of things in the scope toolbox. the point i am trying to make is that the celmo stuff acts very much like the classic amps it models, not like a modern multi-effects amp processor.
