I just bought a brand new Scope Project, but I'm having troubles getting it all installed.

I'm optimistic that CW will respond to the email I sent them and will let me know what to do to correct this, but knowing their situation I might have to wait a bit to get an answer, so I'm asking here also. Maybe if something is answered here it will help another new user looking for answers too.

Basically I expected to get keys for all the plugins that go with the Scope Project (I am chosing the Synth & Sampler pack option in my case). I was able to register the new hardware and get a key sent to me for 4.0 but it did the usual thing for existing users which was to just say "you can buy one plugin for 50% off", and it didn't give me keys for anything that was supposed to be in the Scope Project pack.

Here's the rub, the 4.0 installer won't let me fully install without all the keys for either the synth&sampler or the mix&master set of optional plugins. So I had to install 3.1c in order to use it at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to get the keys for the optional packs with my new Scope Project so I can install all of them and 4.0 ? I have a feeling the answer is "wait for CW to help me"..

The only thing I haven't done yet is register the 4.0 because of the 50% off thing seems like an indication that it thinks I am a existing Pulsar II owner. I figured I'd not go through with that part yet but perhaps the other keys activation/availability is tied to doing that so if I don't get an answer reasonably soon perhaps I'll try registering 4.0.

On a side note, I like the card quite a lot already. I'm optimistic about using it.

Thanks for any info,
Kenf

Hi rezzer
You will have to register and activate 4.0 then in your list of keys for 3.1 you get an extra key for 4.0. Then 4.0 will work.

Thanks for the input. I did as you suggested, and I was able to install 4.0.

However, I haven't yet seen how or where I get the keys for the "optional" stuff that is supposed to come with the Scope Project. The 4.0 installer has the "Project S" option that selects what I want, but I don't have keys for them yet and I am not sure how to get them. The shop/mypage doesn't seem to have anything relevant to picking the optional package in it.

Also, the 4.0 install seems functional (at least initially), except that the Modular2 has no modules at all when I hit it's menu. Seems that 4.0 didn't install it successfully even though there was a key for it. Not too worried about that since I'm supposed to be getting Modular3.. any thoughts on how to get the keys I need?

Thanks for any info/advice,

Modular2 modules was a separate download..and Modular3 are an addition, so you need them all also for M3.

I don't know if you had a cd or not though.....

Download M2_SCOPE_v40_.zip and MIII_SCOPE_v40_.zip and unzip. Did you use the allkeys.skf file for installing SFP 4.0?
The file (from "your page", section Keys) should contain all your devices.

Woops, I forgot about the extra modular2/3 downloads. I was able to download & copy the files into the scope folder and get them to show up.

I still have the issue of missing the keys for the synths'n'sampler pack but I'm expecting the only way to fix that is wait for CW webmaster guy to look into it, verify my purchase date, and manually activate keys because at this point I don't believe the automated process is in place.

Thanks for the feedback!

hi Rezzer,

I don't know how the new scope is packed, bus you sould have a software key number with your synth 'n sampler pack. go to "my page" then "registration", then "Activate software serial number" ther you put the number witch you got with S 'n S pack,
after that you go to download again there you can generate your pack.
your all keys file will be updated.
good luck

btw. good choise the CW-board you will enjoy it!

This may be the problem - I never got the SnS pack at all. I have no numbers to punch in. The package actually said "Pulsar II", but I confirmed with CW before buying it that it would be considered a Scope Project for purposes of registration & getting the SnS pack. I was expecting that the SnS pack would be a download, or enabled on my page at CW just by registering my new hardware.

I'm pretty much in a wait state hoping CW can get to me soon, I am sure they can clear this up once I get ahold of them.

I was able to reach the US tech support and he was very helpful. He set me up with the extra keys and explained how until the new product packages are sent out with new software installers that they will have to register the extra packs over the phone.

yay

Minimax is pretty cool, as is the Vectron. Thanks everyone for your feedback on this,
